Honda tuning?

I just wanna know how to tune my Honda for drag... I keep getting smoked... Is there some sort of secret to it or what? That's my question... Can I get an answer?

Acceleration is key in a drag, so tune your gear ratios to target acceleration, don't do it too much, or you won't have enough top speed. And MT helps.

I'm getting hella wheel spin... Cant even launch and the rev limiter pegs out in 1st 2nd & 3rd.... I've got sports soft tires... And my top speed is set at like 155ish... Can't figure this is out... And I usually drag on the track everybody drags on... Like 1/4 mile or whatever...

Then trial and error is all you got dude. I've spent the better part of this week trying to make my Veyron compete in the tunnel drags. Not there yet, but I'm definitely seeing progress. Just keep at it. It's front wheel drive so you will presumably want a 10 camber/CH tires on the rear for the least amount of friction. Aside from that I really couldn't help you.

And why not use race tires? Are they restricting that?

Nah... Had them on there and they were worse than the sport... I dunno man... It's a long process... Lol

Worse than sport? Nah man, you should always use racing soft. Also try and make 1st and 2nd as long as possible. If you are still hitting the limiter when you launch in 1st, then launch in 2nd. Try dropping the front as well.

The things we need to know is basic drag FF suspension. That is eleiminate weight tranfer to the rear...

Well, LSD can be set to 60/60/5, thats what im using on all my drag cars, cant feel ant differance though.

What about these settings for FF drag cars, does it maken any sence?

Height: F (0), R (all way up)
Spring Rate: F (50%), R (stiff as possible)
Ext: F (10), R (1)
Comp: F (1), R (10)
AntiR: F (default), R (default)
Camber: F (0.0), R (0.0)
Toe: F (0.0), R (0.0)

Basicly, we want as little weight transferment to the reas as possible. Also adding 0 weight ballast, at position 50? front would help a little.

The gearing, as usual, if you keep hitting revlimiter in first gear, make the gear longer. For 1/4 mile indy, you can use the transmission trick, to be able to use all gears.

I would change it to
Height: F (max), R (min)
Spring Rate: F (50%), R (stiff as possible)
Ext: F (10), R (1)
Comp: F (10), R (1)
AntiR: F (max), R (max)
Camber: F (0.0), R (10.0)
Toe: F (0.0), R (0.0)

Okay, but why compression 1 for rear? That only means that rear dampers conmpress more easily, and hence would benefit the weight transferment?

Sorry mixed that up. You're right on that one. I was thinking that the compression was based upon speed of compression rather than pressure.

Oh, okay man, test those settings and tell me the results. I dont have any tuned FF car yet :P

I really appreciate all the input guys... I've been away from the forum for a bit... But I'm hoping to try all this out shortly... Hopefully when it's all said and done I'll have some screaming Hondas... Thanks again...
