GTPlanet, this is breaking news as of me typing this, but the Indy Japan was won by Dan Wheldon. Okay, not really big, but what about Honda FINALLY winning at home? I'm currently watching Dan Wheldon take a victory lap in a Honda S2000. Actually, the race ended in a Honda 1-2 with Dan Wheldon and Tony Kannan. But the racing curse has been lifted for Honda in Japan. Comment at will. And by the way, congratulations to Honda, Dan Wheldon, Tony Kannan, and their respective racing teams.

The Red Badge of Honda rules Japan for the Indy Japan 300 courtesy of the IRL.

Congratulations!!!
1-2 finish of HONDA at home circuit.

Bad luck for Sam hornish Jr today. But it wasn't anyones fault, the other guy had nowhere to go.

No, Speed channel doesn't run the series. With the anti-IRL sentiment of the people at the Speed message boards maybe that's a good thing, though they do have an IRL forum.

To me, the Honda thing is historical since that is the race track they own and have lost at home. I mean, imagine you are the head of a world-renowned car company, and you built a race track. But every time you race professionally with drivers powered by your R & D department, you lose. I mean, imagine if Ford builds a brand new race track, and they keep losing to Chevy and Dodge. If a Ford-powered racer wins on a Ford track after being "cursed," the victory is monumental.

And Solid, ESPN2 shown the race, and I was actually on time to see it live. Now I know why when I see the race on TV, that it's tape delayed. The race runs Friday night, but it is Saturday afternoon over there. Probably none of us would be awake in America if they ran a race in Japan at night and televised in America.

Anyhow, love Honda, hate Honda. They finally got it done.

I guess I better check with ESPN more often. It would have been nice to have seen that race. I use to follow IRL, but haven't done so in a couple of years.

I saw the highlights on the news and it looked pretty good. I love that track; it looks so much like Super Speedway in GT2, & 3.

You know, Solid, people in the GT4 threads tell me that Super Speedway is based on Motegi. Now personally, if it were based on the new Homestead configuration, that would have been cool. And I know the old configuration because I played it in an older NASCAR game.

Next race: Indy 500!

I will be watching that race, for sure. I never miss it. Can't wait for Mr. Nabors...(hee-hee).
