Hook up cable?

My room is already pretty much "cable-ready." But apperantly I have to do something in the attack or something? Well, let's start from the begining.

IN my room, I have the TV, I have the wire that runs from the TV to the cable socket. I've got the little adapter for the cable wire. And I have the cable wire from my attic > through the walls > and coming out off my room wall.

I really just don't have a signal for my cable running through the wires yet. But everything is in place. I'm not too sure how to (I guess) plug the actual cable wiring from the walls to the "wire adapter/socket" (that's my own name for it  ) that allows you to plug in the actual wire that goes from the TV to the socket. I'm not too sure what to do to get a signal going to the wall wire either. I checked out the wiring in the attack, and I followed the cables through the attack floor, and it turns out the other end isn't pluged in at all. :irked: I deffinatly see the wire though. Where and how would I hook it up? I was thinking I would just follow the other wire, but I havn't really gotten a good look yet.

Any help would be thankful. If you guys have a link to anywhere that could help me out, that would be appreciated too.

you mean to convert it from the cable wire to your ethernet or what ever card? cause if thats what your talkin about you have to have a cabel modem. and a wire plugs into that and runs to your computer. or if your gunna use two computers you have to have a router which is pretty much a 80 dollar splitter.
