Hi guys,

I am sick of my tiny computer screen, so I tried hooking my computer to my TV with a HDMI cable. I put it on the native 1920X1080 resolution, but it still doesn't fit. The edges are cut off. Does anybody know why? How do I fix this? I want to use my TV for my games, and it will look sick with my new 6950 2GB graphics card.

Can it even be done? Can a TV really substitute a computer monitor and do the job just as well?

Thanks!:)

Yes.

-You can try changing the aspect ratio on the TV itself.
- Use CCC to change the scaling options.
Go to CCC>My digital flat panels > HDTV support > and adjust the scaling to fit the Tv.

I typically use my tv (42 in) for just racing games. Everything else I use on my monitor (23 in).

What is CCC?

I also notice that it is very blurry. Why is this? Is it just because it is a big 50~ inch screen so the small texts are blurry? Or did I set it up wrong?

Also...just curious. Why do you use a bigger screen for racing games only?

Thanks

Catalyst Control Center. Your AMD driver software.

Text doesn't look all that great when it is blown up due to pixelation. The poorer the TV's specs the poorer pixelation will be.

The 23 in I have is 1920x1080 and is just about the perfect size for multiplayer FPS so my eyes don't have to cover as much ground to spot enemies. I have the tv set up with my sim-rig so that's racing only.

Thank you.

When you talk about "pixelation", are you just saying the resolution is not high enough for the screen size? When you say TV specs, are you talking about resolution?

I use mine with my 50 inch plasma and it looks great. Text looks perfectly fine. I don't notice any pixelation, but I'm not sitting a foot away from the screen either. I'm probably about 5 foot away when I'm using it. I have sli gtx 570s and it was pretty much plug and play. Sometimes when I update drivers I have to change the resolution back to 1080p, but I've only had that happen once or twice. The one thing i always have to change is the sound when I do a driver update. It always takes it back to stereo for some reason.

It sounds like your TVs aspect ratio might just need changed as far as fitting the screen goes. The blurry text I don't know, mine looks fine. No worse then any of my laptops or macbooks.

Thanks. When you talk about the sound, what sound are you talking about? Sound from your TV speakers?

Also...I mentioned this earlier, when you talk about "pixelation", are you just saying the resolution is not high enough for the screen size? When you say TV specs, are you talking about resolution?

Is that you Kool aid??

What the others said. I use my Tv for gaming nearly never do I use my Pc monitor.

I think the problem you have is :
In your TV settings is an option for 1to1 pixel. That will give you the picture fitted to the Tv at 1080p. That seems to be turned off (still on stock settings?). And it's generally "deeply" hidden.

I had the same on my bravia, also adjusted the picture through nvidia first, until I found out that it came from the TV

I am talking about the sound through my speakers. I have mine running through a denon avr for surround sound.

I have a Prima LC 27U16. I tried on my other Sony TV and it's the same problem. I will try to look for the thing in the options. Thanks

Ok. When you said "update drivers", what drivers are you talking about?
