I used to always use the Ferrari F50 in NFS:HP2 years ago, I thought that it was the best car in the game.

I fired the PS2 back up again and tried out the F50 and Carrera GT.
Going up the same hill with the F50 I got to 170mph, with the Gt, only 150ish.:odd:

It also seems like the F50 is a LOT faster than every other car in its class, and should be put in with the top tier cars like the McLaren F1.

Did anyone else notice this? And are there any other cars that have this much of a class advantage in this game?

Yes I have. In fact, the NFS version of the F50 is faster than both versions of the CLK-GTR, and can easily outrun the regular McLaren F1 on some tracks.

As far as other cars, the Crown Victoria is far and away faster than all of the other bottom class cars; being pretty close to as fast as the HSV GTS (the main difference being that the HSV has a higher top speed when you have tons of space).

Just tested out the Crown Vic and the NFS TS50 on Coastal Parklands, the Crown Vic beat the TS50's time by about 3 seconds. And it beat the HSV's time by a full second.

It seems that the Crown Vic can get up to just over 150mph on flat ground, but it gets there fast, and then just stops accelerating, like it's hitting a speed limiter.

The HSV got up to 169 on the straight, but it was slower everywhere else.

Weird balancing issues going on here.

Fun fact about the Crown Vic is that the regular top speed point bonus kicks in at 120, but if you can get it up to 140 the bonus multiplies by ten. Very easy to exploit.

I actually noticed that just now, before I even got to the first turn I got the award, at a whole 108mph.

I didn't get anything extra at 140 though. Which system are you running it on?

In the PC/Xbox/Gamecube version the F50 is in the same class with the F1, F1 LM & CLK GTR. On the PS2 version they effed up.

PS2 version, usually played on a PS3. You have to have a wide enough room to go for it that you constantly are accelerating, because the bonus won't kick in twice. You either get the big one or the little one. It's kind of hard to describe what you had to do to get it, but once you figured it out you could exploit the hell out of it.
