You can do it in you're Skyline, but it's not easy. You can do it in most if not all GT500 cars with stage 4 turbo's you may even win with a stage 3 if you're good enough. But if you just want tomake sure you beat the seires, do some other races, hit 25% completion, DON'T sell to Audiyou win for that, you don't win it again. Then do the El Capitan 200 miles race and win the 88-CV which should beat the series easily.

OK once again concerning the escudo...is it the fastest car in the game? or not?......and exactly howmuch top speed wud i get after lowering the downforce and adjusting the gear ratios? and finally which car do you ppl recommend for the gt championship.

Just read this thread trough to find comments on car of choice forGT Champ.
There's also a nice "Fastest car" and "post your top speed" thread. Don't think the escudo is on top of the list.

No the Escudo isn't the fastest car in GT4, also the top speed is variable depending on oil and other settings, gears suspension, ride height ect. Therees a recommended car just 2 posts above yours Sashiated, along with hispeed I suggest you read the thread.

Dude you can beat it with a JGTC Car. You guys dont need the Minolta to beat those other cars. All is takes it practice and some skill to conquer the rest of the cars. 💡
Well Said Supren! 👍 ...O.G. :D

Why? What's wrong with my Skyline? It's pretty fast and has about 885HP, which is good.

Gigante, what is the maximum HP for the Minolta vechile?
Audi R8. Might cost an arm and a leg (unless you want to do the Le Mans 24 hours and win it there), but it's a dream to drive and unmodified, it can hold it's own with the best of them - even against the Minolta, Sauber-Mercedes, R92CP, R89C and, strangely, the Camaro LM Race Car. How the hell I got that draw was beyond me, but it's still winnable.

Just watch out for the 18 laps around Opera Paris Reverse. That track was NOT meant for LMPs at all and you'll just eat your tyres to the point where you'll have to two-stop (try around laps 6 and 12). Stupidly, I did a one-stop on lap 9 and was sliding around for the last three laps, and finished thrid (would have been fourth, but I beat the R89C by about 0.014 seconds).

Also, the competition will be fairly consistent - for me, the Sauber always finished second (bar Opera, where it won), and the Minolta always third. So unless you're like my brother and just punt the most-consistent bad guys off at the first corner (sending both of you into a spin) and then drive like hell to try and win, you'll also need to be good.

Oh yeah, and sometimes the AI thinks it doesn't need to stop at La Sarthe, so you'll need to drive hard, fast and perfectly to catch him on the final lap or two (or just let Arnage do the messy bit - three out of four times I've raced the series, the guy who skips his stop spins there).

You mean you had to tune it . Try using the original Midget, slightly more challenging.

Do you race?

Minolita is ****. It aint fast, aint having good corners. I guess Ill go for Audi A8 but I would love to get the 787B or R89C. :(

How much is A8 anyway?

Actually the Minolta is possibly the third fastest car in the game with the Formula GT and Sauber C9 being faster, the 88CV is quicker than the R8 though it migh need setting up if you can't get it as fast. The R8 (I presume thats what you meant) costs 4,500,000Cr or in the Japanese version you can win it on the Grand valley 300.

Yopu cad still do it a lot cheape than buying a GT500 car, I'm not talking about winning the Minolta either. Buy a GT300 car and with the Motul 350Z.

Someone did a comparison of all the Group C/LMP cars B-speccing at Sarthe. Probably somewhere in the writeups section. IIRC, the Pescarolos were the fastest, but the Sauber and Minolta were up there.

Stock, while the Minolta is faster, I'd recommend the R8 because of the superior handling.

In the NA version, you can win the R8 at the Sarthe I Endurance.

Old Geezer
About THREE TIMES more credits than you need to spend! ...O.G. :D

Well, there are the JGTC500s... but for the PRICE... I'd have to say the Chapparal 2J is the best. At 1.5 million (IIRC), it can tear apart all the GroupC/LMPs bone stock.

Good point live4speed! 👍 That way you could do it for less than 200,000 Credits! Check the link in Post #23 above for details of the MOTUL winning this series.

@ Shift: Sorry to see that you've given up on the Xanavi Skyline! :guilty: Guess I'll finish up the last five races & post a review in the Write-ups section. :indiff:

WOW! Good Find!👍 I'd have never thought of that combo!...O.G. :D

I never even contemplated winning in a GT500 until I read you're thread about the Motul and I had to give it a go, took a bit of practice to get my first win in one but it's very possible as you and others have said.

Okay I just bought the 787B and its NO use!!! i wasted my 3,500,000 CR on it... it aint that much fast, the Monilto was even faster than the 787B >_< God i cant beat this GT championshop.. I think ill go for A8 this time.. its only 4,500,000 CR but i can afford that..

If you can't win with the 787b or the 88CV you're not going to win with the R8, you need to practice mate, not blow all you're cash on buying one car after anothe trying to get the fastest car. If you really, really can't do it in a group C car, do the Nurb 24hr race, it's dead easy, win the Formula GT and use that.

Actually, you win the Sauber in the Grand Valley 300 in the Japanese version.

So which one do you get the R8 in? We don't win it in anything in the PAL version, we don't get the Sauber in the GV300 either.

It costs 4,500,000Cr and thats cheap. :D thanks for ur help live4speed but which of the following car do you think its the best?

- R89C
- 787B
- Audi A8

Probably close between the 787B (but it needs good settings) and the R8 (the A8 is a luxury saloon), the R8 is the LMP racer.

UPDATE to Post #47:
TV sucked last nite so I ran three more races with the XANAVI Skyline.

Three more wins (although One was a "Nail Biter" :scared: ) & the Nissan now leads the Minolta by 38 Points. Two races left.

@ Shift: Listen to live4speed. You do NOT need a "Magic Car" to win this series!!! :mischievous:
...O.G. :D

LMP = Le Man Prototype. Plus i don't think you can buy Nissan R89 in the dealer shop.

Use whatever you like, it's possible in that Xanavi Skyline with a bigger turbo, same goes for any GT500 class car. Any of the 3.5-4.5 million cars should win no problem with or without a bigger turbo, it's personal preferrence. The only car thats notably not as good as the rest in that price range is the Panoz. It can still win, but it's not as fast round corners as the others. You just need to practice, maybe try setting up the cars differently, if you need help setting them up theres a load of great setups provided on this site.

And it's the Audi R8, the A8 is a luxury car, not an LMP.

Also you can just spend about 1.3 million $ to buy a Black R92C in the used cars slot. Cheap price for a monstor machine, you should not have any problems with World GT series then.
