How do I maintain a drift using the Sixaxis?

I'm trying to get the drifting trophy and doing it on Chamonix Main with the Ford Focus like many have suggested. My problem is I cannot maintain a drift longer than a few seconds like I keep seeing in videos. I keep doing short drifts so that I don't spin out, and my highest score is around 8,900. How the heck do I maintain a drift??? Like what buttons should I be pressing? I'm using a Sixaxis and don't plan on getting a wheel anytime soon. I see some guides on this site but they all assume you have a wheel. Thanks. :nervous:

Depending on the car you're using initiate the drift and counter steer, but remember not to countersteer too much as you will probably end up in the grass. Another main factor (for me anyway) is to somewhat tap the throttle.

I use a controller too, so I know where you're coming from, but I would highly recommend getting use to the car first.

I made two videos of me drifting with the sixaxis in camera's view. Don't know how much this will help you out though. My button setup is GT-1 style (x-gas, square-brake, circle-ebrake, l1-r1-shift). I think steering is the harder part to get used to.

Fully built DeLorean (19,000pts)

Mazda MX-5

You can even use a front wheel drive civic to get the 10,000pts so you're not limited to FR/4WD.

would help if you got rid of that FF car(FF is not drifting its just ass dragging). Get yourself a FR or MR car. Any silvia is the way to go as they are cheap to buy and easy to drift, perfect for a beginner.
