I am really annoyed that the name of my friends and their laps are covering up the track. I really can't see the corner and the braking markers with like 15 names in my face all the time. How do I get rid of this?

The ONLY way to do it so it stays done is to REMOVE those people who are constantly in front of you from your friends list.
I had to do it and people understand why they are being removed.
You can fiddle around doing other things but the above is the only way to get the job done permanently.
Good luck.

Alright, thanks for the advice. That's just not feasible for me since I race in a league where I need to have certain people friended in order to join a room. Man, I hope they fix this.

LOL. Wut!?

Or to be at the front, & stay there...

All the above AND you can turn off your display, that way you still race your ghost but don't have the names above the blue lines (the blue lines are still there but don't put you off). Only trouble is you can't tell if you've invalidated a lap.

Why this can't be rectified in an update is beyond me, SURELY wouldn't take alot of sorting!

Don't they ( PD ) understand this is a real and urgent issue? It prevents people (like me) from having online friends:tdown:
I Really believed they would have fixed this in 1.06 but No... Instead we get GPS and other things that can wait IMO.
put that "friends lines" on a switch PD. This would make this feature cool, because right now it sucks!

I have to disagree. You don't need to go deleting all of your friends to accomplish this. :rolleyes:I have a full friends list (100 people) and this has never been a problem for me. Simply press "up" on the D Pad and they are gone, simple as that. I'm not sure why you keep insisting that the only way to do this is to delete all of your friends, but it couldn't be more wrong. Yes, each time you enter the event, they are there, but just press "up" and they will stay gone for the rest of the session. While your way works, it is not the best way to go about it....I mean, who wants to have to delete all their friends when they don't have too, other than you maybe. Just some bad advice from you which, while may get the job done, is really not needed. So, to sum this up, what ever button you have mapped for "ghost", (up on the D pad for most and is default if I'm not mistaken) just press it at the beginning of your session and the ghosts are gone. Better than deleting all of your friends, I'm looking at you dalone.

Yes but that up button removes all ghosts/lines. What if I want to follow just the ghost/line of one of the leaders I downloaded, or mine, as I have always done in the past?

These lines from our friend-list just need to be select-able, much in the same manor as we have in the gallery when we are selecting multiple files for deletion, we need check boxes by each name on our lists so that we are able to choose which [if any] friends lines we wish to have in view whilst we are participating in an event, and if we leave all boxes unchecked then we only have our own ghost in view.

I really hope this could be a simple implementation for PD to provide. 👍

You are reading my mind!👍

Contrary to what Cargo says here, l always find that even when l press the remove ghost lines button they will return during the race regardless. Whether this is the norm or whether it just happens/happened on my PS3 l do not know, all l know is that it happens to me and as l stated, the only way for me to stop it was to remove a number of people from my friends list. And while some people appear to be comforted by having a large number of friends on their list, others like myself are totally at ease with just 1/2 dozen or a dozen. However when l get a new PS set up l am keen to see whether the 'remove' button works the way Cargo says it does for him.

I found having the ghost-toggle mapped to "up" on the d-pad made it too easy to accidentally turn on and off...I just put it where the handbrake used to be. Probably not a good solution if you actually use the handbrake though :)

As I have told you before, the ghosts are coming back because you are inadvertently hitting the button that you have mapped for ghost while you are playing. They just don't magically reappear without an input by you. I don't know why you can't understand that. You are going to feel pretty silly when you realize that, that is the case but I'm sure you will never openly admit it. :embarrassed: You'll probably just say that it got fixed when you get your new PS3 and blame the problem on the old one. Since the PS3 has nothing to do with inputs (that would be the controllers job) that excuse is going to be pretty hard to believe, but I'm sure you'll convince yourself otherwise. Just map the ghost button to another button or don't map it at all, problem solved. 💡 So, please stop telling people that the only way to solve the problem is by deleting friends. Its just plain wrong.

And as for your friends list comment, it has nothing to do with feeling comforted but everything to do with friendly competition. :)

And "I have a Dream"

Anyway thanks Ramon,I like joking...
I did it a couple of times, and my PS3 hangs, freezes and then i have to exit the game, which results in a 3beep crash, loosing tuning changes and other data.
seems it does that (hangs) when i stop racing and the program needs to register the time. just before that Congratulations you have won gold - Applause thing comes up. If there's a network problem or i'm signed out, It will remain in that state, no congratulations no applause... only sadness tears and anger:lol:

To be absolutely sure, you have to delete yourself too. No news ..good news!
Fact is that Friends on GT5 were necessary when it was possible to Lend cars etc etc. In GT6 sadly there are a number of changes which lessen our game enjoyment and having too many friends, for many of us, is one of them.

GT6 has lessen our game enjoyment and it is not the same like it was in GT5.

We will all be there again and again i'm afraid, if PD doesn't fix it!:)

There is really nothing to fix though Yan, as far as Dalone's problem goes. The only thing that they could/should fix, is an option to pick just one certain ghost. Now its either an "all or nothing" which does need looking into. Dalone's problem is not related to anything that needs to be fixed, that's on him to remap his buttons so that it doesn't keep happening. :) Like I said before, he is inadvertently hitting the ghost button while playing causing the ghosts (blue lines) to keep coming back during his sessions. I've seen this happen before with the horn button, as I've explained before in déjà vu :sly:

It's not that something is broken and needs to be fixed......more like something helpful is missing and needs to be added [refer to post #13] to make it little easier/better of an experience for us all without having to resort to signing out/in each time or even such measures as @Dalone has suggested and is willing to do himself.

Yes Mitch we all know Dalone is pressing that up button by mistake. That's not the point.
This feature (friends lines) is not correctly implemented. it's a rushed feature.
If its implemented in a correct way, such as @nowcontrol proposed here, then it will be a very cool feature.
Right now its just a good idea gone wrong therefore its a broken kaput awful 🤬 useless feature.
They could have put in super extra groovy led bar vu-meters playing with the music to distract us as well,
or even chicks striping ... that would be better than this crap.. eh PD?

Can you delete all friends ghosts/lines & then download a top 10 ghost? (i.e. So it only shows the top 10 guys ghost)
