Alright, thanks for the advice. That's just not feasible for me since I race in a league where I need to have certain people friended in order to join a room. Man, I hope they fix this. The ONLY way to do it so it stays done is to REMOVE those people who are constantly in front of you from your friends list.
I had to do it and people understand why they are being removed.
You can fiddle around doing other things but the above is the only way to get the job done permanently.
Good luck.
Ah yiss! That works perfectly! Thanks.Or press up on the d-pad but it also removes your ghost

I have to disagree. You don't need to go deleting all of your friends to accomplish this. I have a full friends list (100 people) and this has never been a problem for me. Simply press "up" on the D Pad and they are gone, simple as that. I'm not sure why you keep insisting that the only way to do this is to delete all of your friends, but it couldn't be more wrong. Yes, each time you enter the event, they are there, but just press "up" and they will stay gone for the rest of the session. While your way works, it is not the best way to go about it....I mean, who wants to have to delete all their friends when they don't have too, other than you maybe. Just some bad advice from you which, while may get the job done, is really not needed. So, to sum this up, what ever button you have mapped for "ghost", (up on the D pad for most and is default if I'm not mistaken) just press it at the beginning of your session and the ghosts are gone. Better than deleting all of your friends, I'm looking at you dalone.
These lines from our friend-list just need to be select-able, much in the same manor as we have in the gallery when we are selecting files for deletion, we need check boxes by each name on our lists so that we are able to choose which [if any] friends lines we wish to have in view whilst we are participating in an event, and if we leave all boxes unchecked then we only have our own ghost in view.
I really hope this could be a simple implementation for PD to provide. 👍
Contrary to what Cargo says here, l always find that even when l press the remove ghost lines button they will return during the race regardless. Whether this is the norm or whether it just happens/happened on my PS3 l do not know, all l know is that it happens to me and as l stated, the only way for me to stop it was to remove a number of people from my friends list. And while some people appear to be comforted by having a large number of friends on their list, others like myself are totally at ease with just 1/2 dozen or a dozen. However when l get a new PS set up l am keen to see whether the 'remove' button works the way Cargo says it does for him.I have to disagree. I had a déjà vu.
Deleting ALL my friends is the only way I'll be the quickest on my friends boards... can't believe I didn't think of that sooner! 💡
Fact is that Friends on GT5 were necessary when it was possible to Lend cars etc etc. In GT6 sadly there are a number of changes which lessen our game enjoyment and having too many friends, for many of us, is one of them.To be absolutely sure, you have to delete yourself too. No news ..good news!

Yea, me too. I could have sworn I was there before....turns out I was.
We will all be there again and again i'm afraid, if PD doesn't fix it!
There is really nothing to fix though Yan, as far as Dalone's problem goes. The only thing that they could/should fix, is an option to pick just one certain ghost. Now its either an "all or nothing" which does need looking into. Dalone's problem is not related to anything that needs to be fixed, that's on him to remap his buttons so that it doesn't keep happening. Like I said before, he is inadvertently hitting the ghost button while playing causing the ghosts (blue lines) to keep coming back during his sessions. I've seen this happen before with the horn button, as I've explained before in déjà vu
