How do some drive so fast?

Someone drove Dragontail seaside, gr4, with a laptime of 1.31

How is this possible? I know I’m not very good, but that kind of time seems impossible even if I was good. My best with gr3 is 1.40 for crying out loud.

Well, try not to cry out loud, because it's hard to hear the engine and tires.

Seriously though, what's the context here? Is that in a daily, lobby, etc. BoP on? Racing Super Soft tires? Is there a replay to watch?

Sorry, no replay. Lobby. Bop off. Dont know what tires were used by that driver. But is it possible to achieve that kind of time?

What car?

That time on a Gr.4 car is probably only possible without BoP, max power, minimum wight and super softs.

Gr.3 cars with BoP and super softs run 33/34s.

The best ligitemate laps I've seen on Dragon Seaside, Gr3 full power least weight, are at 1:27.500. I've only seen a dozen or so do it. It takes all I can do to get under the 1:30 mark.

Edit : More to your question, RSS tires, and the best car setup anyone can come up with.

Do some qualifying laps at a daily to see how you hold up against top10. So much variables in the lobby's.

It doesn't seem impossible. As some have said in a lobby with no BOP it's not inconceivable in a GR 4 class vehicle, and my best in a GR 4 Bugatti with limited BOP and RH was 1:43. Stands to Reason a full power GR4 can achieve 1:30s, especially the Meta Car that performs beyond compare there.

Was this a one-off or were they consistently lapping this fast? With boost enabled it's possible to set ridiculously fast times from the back of the field.

My lap time improvement got better when I switched from chase cam to bonnet cam, very consistent now. But you're right, some people are seriously fast. When I compare my Gr.3/4 lap times to others, I first check if they are using BOP setting for the best comparison imo.
