how do u drift?

i sound like an idiot but ive tried to drift with the handbrake and it just locks up and hits a wall wot settings shall u use and wot is the best car? i tried mine's skyline with the biggest turbo i could get and its rubbish



btw im playin gt4 on ps2 does it make a diff cos i couldnt wheelie aswel
