i have heard alot of people saying lower ur car in gt 2 and adjust the gear ratios CAN SOMEBODY PLEASE EXPLAIN ME HOW YOU DO THAT, me and my cousins are going to race on saturday (CANADIAN) and i need to know all that junk on tuning
:odd: :banghead:

ill help u my friend, to lower ur car go into settings and then when u get to the screen press L1. then u press x and scroll down to ride hight, then press x again. u will now b at the page where u can ajust it. the more you go left on the setting the lower it gets.

Of course, you have to have purchased an adjustable suspenion in the tuning section of the dealer where you purchased the car. (Although racing cars do come pre-equipped with such parts).

In order to go into the settings section, you will need to be in Player 1 mode.

Must be a canuck thread.

I've set my cars like this.
Rear ride height at its highest and front 3 clicks from its lowest. The car accelerates alot faster with this setting. If you lower the rear to near front setting, the car has good feedback on steering (at least that's what i found out while tuning).

Some of my cars i keep the front and rear low but not at its lowest.

Playing with spring rates and ride height can make the car handle much better than stock, which can make your times much faster.
Lowering the car lowers it's center of gravity, makes it more stable.
As a general rule of thumb, on most cars I don't mess with spring rate too much. My race cars in GT 2 I bring the Spring rates to 8.0 and 10.0 front and rear on front engine cars then take the car all the way to the ground and then up 5 clicks in front and 7-10 in the rear.
Then I go to midfield to test. If the car is understeering I raise the back a few more clicks and try again. If it is oversteering I raise the front a few clicks.
I set my stabilizers at 5 and 6 front and rear, except on the cars that come stock with higher settings.
Some suspension tuning is a bit of a "black art". But once you get it down to a science. You can make your cars much faster and easier to control.
If you don't mess with the settings you miss out on the greatness of my favorite car in GT2. The R390-GT1 road car. It sucks right out of the box. Handles like a well thrown brick, and has a top speed of 142 mph even with a stage four turbo.
Add a brake controller and full race tranny. Set the transmission to 12 on the "sports-wide" slider and bias the brakes 2-3 clicks to the rear with supersoft tires on the rear and soft or mediums up front and you now have an awesome car, instead of a very quick brick. :D
And if you want to experience the greatness of any WRX or the 22B Subarus, you MUST do some major tweeking.

I just wanted to say this for anyone who think's setting's don't make a difference. Dosn't matter if your running the 1/4 mile to normal race the ride height ,spring rate , sway bars and especially the gear ratios make the most difference when racing. Thats all oh and downforce when you have the racing mod

You deffinitly have to turn downforce all the way down!
-My Escudo was hitting top speed at 246mph. I turned the DF all the way down and I got in the 265mph range :)
