I've seen people doing this yet when I select a blue paint chip it turns the stripes black. Can anyone fill me in please?!

You have to find the right kind of blue. Some shades of blue get white stripes others get black stripes.

There is a special version that comes with blue and white stripes.

Did dodge get rid of blue/silver stripes in real life or is PD just being stupid and dropping the color option out.

I think they did drop the blue/white stripes in real life. And the special version that comes with blue/white is the new launch edition. I'm talking about the old GTS.

Ok, that's helpful. Any tips on the right shade of blue? Does it have to be light blue?

It doesn't have to be super light. I bought a blue SRT Charger SRT8 '11 and used the paint chip from that.

I haven't had time to try it but I got this sugestion in a different thread as well.

For "the right blue" have you tried Aegean Blue Pearl from the Acura 3.2 CL Type-S '03? I used it on my GT5 Viper GTS as, to my eye, it was the closest match.

Since I posted that, I tried that Acura chip on my Viper in GT6. Guess What? Black stripes :banghead:. So far, all of the metallic and pearl blue chips that I own will apply black stripes. So, don't bother with the following: VW Scirocco "Rising Blue Metallic", Tommykaira ZZII "Blue Metallic", Honda Fit "Azure Blue Metallic", and Acura CL "Aegean Blue Pearl".

Then why did PD drop the blue/white on the GTS.

It made me mad in GT2 having these fugly silver with colored stripes.

"Shoreline Drive Blue" from the Hyundai Genesis Coupe gives white stripes. Looks pretty good, too. I'll post a pic soon.

Here it is. The Hyundai blue looks a little bit darker than the '13 car's GTS Blue:

EDIT:
I used the GTS Blue Pearl from the '13 Viper then bought an '02 Viper in that red/orange colour with white stripes, painted the '02 with the GTS Blue Pearl and voila!

Why didn't I see this before I painted it with the Hyundai colour? For that matter, why didn't I think of that before? Of course it not only works, it looks perfect. Note, though, that the "Launch Edition" '13 Viper pictured on the right does not give you a chip. You need to buy the regular '13 SRT Viper (the one without the stripes) in GTS Blue in order to get the chip. Pics coming tomorrow.

So, yeah, these are two that work for sure. @iainoflo85's suggestion of using the '13 Viper chip is probably the best way to go, unless you're on a budget or prefer the darker colour

Wish I knew that before I bought the Launch Edition. I was wondering where the chip was... but oh well, I have just under 2 mill right now. Just bought the regular GTS in GTS blue and applied it to my '02 GTS. Looks great.

Also, is it confirmed that the GTS Launch Edition in regular GTS blue (no stripes) doesn't give you the chip? Cause I bought the blue with white stripes. Maybe it's cause the stripes that they don't give it to you?

The Launch Edition is only available with the white stripes. There's no other colour choice in GT6 or real life. The blue & white colour scheme is largely what sets the now-unavailable Launch Edition apart from the regular GTS.

I painted mine blue, but I noticed a glitch in the Viper's stripes. When you use it in a race, the stripes don't match up - the front bumper's stripes are wider than the rest. But in photomode, it fixes this. Strange...

Could this have been due to damage sustained during a race? I'll try it myself later on to confirm it.

You can buy the '13 Viper in GTS Blue with black stripes. You will get the GTS Blue color, which will leave the '02 Viper with white stripes when repainting.

Thus having a Viper in the right shade of blue and with white stripes.

Yeah, that's what it looked like to me too...

It's not caused by body damage, the bumper stripes actually are slightly wider in race photomode:
