I've tried to find something about it, but all I could find were older posts saying it was not possible. Is it really not possible to re-assign a Xbox controller? I'm starting to get really annoyed about having to exit the game, and having to reset (read: shut down and restart) my Xbox every time I need to re-assign a controller. Surely, there must be an easier way, no? :boggled:

Any help with this would be much appreciated!

I'm not sure if im confused or not, but isn't there a button on the front of the Xbox? It should be next to the slots for memory cards. Press the little button on the top of your controller, then when the lights start blinking go press the button on the Xbox.

I believe that's how you sync controllers. All controllers are already synced, what I want to do is change a controller from Player 2 to Player 1. Unless that can be achieved by re-syncing the controller?

I would think you could do it the way robot explained it. If you pulled the batteries from the controller you want to be reassigned from 1 to 2 or if you're trying to remove it completely, you could then resync them and it may just reassign it to player 1. Or I could be totally wrong as I've owned this thing for a few short months and only own one controller.
I want to say there is another way to do this but I may be thinking of the stupid controllers for the Scene It game for the 360.

Alright then, I may just give it a shot next time I need to switch controllers. That's one thing that was so much easier on the PS3.

On the controller at the top there is a small button. On the Xbox there is a similar button by the Two Card slots. Now, push the Xboxs button. Then hold down the controller button. The 1st quadrent of the Xbox will be lit up and you're done

Ok, I've finally gotten around to testing this out, and unfortunately, it does not work. After re-syncing the controller, it jumps straight back to the same assignment, i.e. the controller for Player 2 stays at Player 2, irrespective of the controller for Player 1 having been turned off. It seems the only solution really is to exit the game, shut down the console, restart the console, and restart the game. All that, just to re-assign a controller. :irked:
