How is PS4 Pro Performance?

In single-player it's very good, nearly always 60. In multiplayer, there are unfortunately extreme frame-rate drops for about 1 second whenever a new player joins the race, which is quite annoying.

Be interested to know how it compares with PC1 on ps4 pro as it clearly looks inferior in comparison on standard ps4

Many things are better now:
- More elaborate menus
- Options are directly reachable, even in mid-race (offline)
- more information during the races (at least I think so)
- and most important: at least a slightly improved car handling, you now can catch your car more easily if your ass is going to slip away, but it's still not too easy IMO: You still recognize it a bit too late if this happens and some cars (as the Clio RS) still behave very unrepreducable in turns - you just can't drive it without driving aids (at least I can't). But hey, it's just a Clio - I'm pretty sure it's a great and fun to drive car in real life!
- graphics and sound are both very good, similar to PC1.

Any additions?

very good performance on ps4 pro rock solid 60fps what ever happening on screen and i have yet to see a tearing or a very bad drop of framerate after playing it for a few hours :)

forgot to add - replays are 30fps even on pro which is frustrating since i hardly notice any difference compared to actual gameplay ,ok maybe there is DOF but that's it.hopefully, this will improve in the future.

The graphics could use some huge improvements even for the PS4 Pro.

Especially on the shadows in the environment and around the car. If you drive the car like me, which is from the back view of the car, you can see weird shadows sticking around the back and front of the car. Those weird shadows around the car can also be seen during the Replay video as well. There are lots of straight line shadows on trees and the race tracks. And flickering shadows everywhere in the environment.

About Replay videos. I also see many vertical black lines during Replay videos. Is that call screen tearing? There are also some static lines on top and bottom of the screen during Replay video.

there's a replay bug that gives you 60fps, steps were reported earlier on GTP (can't find the post now): Watch a replay, use the photomode then exit photomode and when you resume watching the replay it will be 60fps.

We may or may not fix this bug, Ian is still thinking about it ;)

I'm playing PC2 on a PS4 Pro on a 1080p screen. But I'm surprised : there is a lot of aliasing, graphical effects seems very low (shadows, cars details). No PS4 Pro support for 1080p users ? No Downsampling or 1080p with ultra settings or is it an issue well known for 1080p screen players ?

I have an XBox One standard and a PS4 Pro. While the Pro is significantly better it does have it's issues as well though. Two things I noticed today :

1) Driving a slow road car (think it was the Audi S1) with a big rear view mirror inside on Hockenheim short. You really see the grand stands (first the people, then the stand) disappear in your rear view mirror as you take that last turn and drive over the start/finish line.

2) Driving the Renault Megane Trophy R 265 on COTA national (or whatever the shortest one is called). If you come out of the zigzag section you see a long armco barrier being built up straight in your face.

3) A few days ago I saw the LOD of a Ford F-150 RTR Funhaver pop 1 grade lower about 20 meters in front of me. That was doing a Road G race at Texas Road Course while taking the last turn just before coming back on the oval section.

Don't get me wrong, the Pro is a great machine to play this game on. Rock solid FPS as far as I have experienced and the graphics in HDR are plain gorgeous (dashboards, car exteriors, the sky and the lighting engine are absolutely great). But this game seems to have an issue with draw distances.

But this game absolutely friggin' rocks! The car handling models are ace and controller gameplay works great just out of the box as well. No matter how polished some other games might be at release, they will never have the immersion and fun factor of PCARS 2.

Sadly the AI difficulty is all wrong in various aspects but SMS is aware and I'm sure they are working on it already.
