Hi all - I have finally got online with my PS3 - but after initial download it takes "forever" to download to the HDD. Anybody knows how long time it would normally take? It has been sitting there showing me 600mins +/- on the screen for at least two hours now without any indications on the progress bar - looks like PS3 HDD is still working.... Is this normal? Thanks racers!

About the same thing happened to me; if you have cancelled it, try again and just leave it on. It took about 2-3hrs for me, in the beginning it did look like it was stuck but it did finish (I was away so I don't know what happened)

There are threads about this. It seems by what you say is happening that you downloaded all of the updates, and are now trying to install all of them at once. This may or may not work. Some folks have had luck with this while others haven't. It's recommended to download and install ONE update from the XMB to your PS3, then install IT in the game. Go back and install ONE more from the XMB, and so forth.

When I did the one-at-a-time method with Ethernet and 12mbps at the PS3 the whole thing took 6 or so hours.

Thanks a bunch Draggon! I got a suggestion from a friend of mine to also use an Ethernet cable - I should have better luck may-be ...... I'll try tomorrow morning :) Cheers for your support!

Why would you post this here AND create a new thread about it?

I thought may be some new guy's out there would have a quick look.... sorry. Good thing is that I have two GT6 CD's - so by avoiding to update the second one I can still play it. :)

I had to format my HDD to have room to download GT6 (Old 40 GB). Though, My HDD doesn't have the space required to download updates. Says I need 56 MB to update, yet my HDD only has a single copy of GT6 on it.
I know it'll take some time to download. Ethernet Cable is the way I'll try to go if I can figure out my HDD.
Weird how PD invested in cheap CD's for the game. My PS3 bleached the dye right out of my copy, so it doesn't work, which is why I had to get the digital copy.
