I ran the Sarth II 24-Hour a couple of weeks ago with a BMW V12 LMR. B-Spec Bob completed 437 laps, beating the Minolta Toyota and Sauber C9 by three laps.
I just ran it again this weekend (I wanted another Speed 8) with a Peugeot 905, and incredibly enough, Bob managed exactly the same lap total: 437. Pretty amazing. What are the chances of that?
It made me wonder what other peeps are getting from their B-Spec pilots in other cars, so:
If you've done this race, please post your lap total for the event, with a few details on the car you used.
(In my case, I ran Stage 4 power on both the Bimmer and the Peugeot. The Bimmer had R2/R1 tires, and went 8 laps between pit stops. On the "3" speed setting it cruised away from the C9 and 88C-V. I neglected to note what sort of lap times it was turning.
(The Peugeot started off with R2/R2 tires, but after building only a 40-second lead after 13 hours I got nervous and tried R3 Medium fronts. Fortunately, they just barely made 8 laps, while dropping lap times by about two seconds. The 905 then pulled away to win by over a lap. Lap times on R2/R2 were about 3:12 to 3:14. With R3/R2 they were around 3:10 to 3:12, once again on the "3" speed setting.
(Suspension was stock on the Bimmer, but I had to raise and soften the suspension on the Peugeot. Even then, sparks fly off the bottom of that thing all over the course.)
