How many times have you moved?

I think I've moved a total of four or five times, I can only remember only 2 of those times of my family moving.

I have two months before I move out, and this time, it's going to be on my own. I'll be going to a new (kind-of familiar) state. Bigger city, more expensive stuff, healthier people, less fast food, and I barely know anyone there apart from a friend and some other members of my family.

That place is the Bay Area of CA. It's gonna be interesting, I'm glad I'm at-least pretty familiar with the place.

How many times have you moved?

Welsh farmhouse > Suburban terraced house > Identical house next door > Current house within walking distance of the previous two.

All my life. I don't think I've ever been in one house for longer then three years.

EDIT:

It'd be easier to name the major moves I've had.

Texas to Colorado
Colorado to New York
New York to Germany
Germany to New York
New York to Colorado
Colorado to Hawai'i
Hawai'i to Colorado

Georgia to my grandma's house in Fargo.
Grandma's house to an apartment.
Apartment to my mom and dad's house.
Their house to a apartment when I got married.
Apartment to my first house.
First house to an apartment while the second house was being built.
Second house to my current residence.

Seven, I guess.

Wow. Any stories about each move?

Not really. My father was US Army, so that's the big reason behind the drastic moves. I did start kindergarten in Germany and finished high school in Hawai'i. I think that's pretty cool. I do believe I was in Germany during the Chernobyl disaster as well.

That was Ukraine Ken. :lol:

I know. But being anywhere near the Ukraine during that time was dangerous. I think that explains why I have three......ummm......I've said to much. :lol:

Once. From a block of flats to a detached house. And even that happened within one town. I will have to move in next 5 years though, because there are no universities near where I'm living right now.

I'm sure you must have learned a-lot about their cultures. Did you pick up the German language at all?

I did. But I really need a refresher course in German. My Hawai'ian is better.

21 years of living in Hilversum Noord.
7 years and a bit living in Hilversum centrum. (3 km from 1st home)
And now I am in my 3rd place, 500 meter from my 2nd home.

And that's it.

I moved three times while my parents were together. Since then my dad has stayed in the house and my mom moved into her apartment, and then again to her boyfriend's apartment. So five different places and four moves.

What was the point in the 2nd move?

As for me 4 times not including moving for uni.
Once just moving town.
Once moving from Surrey to Lincolnshire.
Once moving town again.
Again moved town.

Your math sucks.

Moving from a chicken shed (24m2) to a house. Our living room is bigger than the entire house. Hell, our master bed room is almost as big as that tiny house. And for pretty much the same amount of monthly money throw-aways.

It's maths damn it.

Although yes it sucks and always has done.

Let's see:

Childhood home -> post-divorce home
Post-divorce home -> University Dorm*
University Dorm -> Toronto Apartment #1
Apartment -> Dad's Place #1
Dad's Place #1 -> Dad's Place #2
Dad's Place #2 -> Toronto Apartment #2
Toronto Apartment #2 - Toronto Apartment #3
Toronto Apartment #3 - Current Toronto Home

* Unsure if it counts, since it was just for the one school year. Moving back home wasn't something I wanted to do, but extreme circumstances called for it, and I don't regret it for a second.

6 years in Neston, Wiltshire, 14 years in Corsham Wiltshire, 1 year on Chichester University campus, 1 year in a student house, and current 5 months in another student house.

East London, UK - 5 moves throughout Barking & Dagenham and Havering boroughs until 21.
Chongqing, China - 5 moves throughout the whole city (including a year in a theme park) until 27.
Chinag Mai, Thailand - Still in the first place I moved into here.

Not once. It pains me to know we will have to move when my grandma dies (which I presume will happen in the next four years, she is 91 and bedridden, but quite sturdy), as the house is her's and it will be sold to share the money against her three sons (my mother, aunt and uncle). Most of the furniture is not even ours, so we can't take it with us as some sort of emotional attachment to the house.

I don't want to see this place demolished. But I can do nothing about it.

12 times. Excluding to-ing and fro-ing from uni each summer. 2008 was the last year where I didn't move at least once.

Let's see, from what I can deduce I've moved a total of 4 times so far, currently been living in the same spot for 5 years now.

12 times in 5 states; I seemed to move around a lot (5 places) during college.
