How much does fuel cost where you live?

I'd like to know how much less everyone has to pay for petrol compared to us. as i live in england i doubt there are (m)any countries with more expensive fuel than what you get here, it would be nice if people could post the amount of fuel (gallons/litres) as well as their prices.

here its about £0.80 per litre, which is about $1.33 per litre.

Here in STL it fluctuates a lot. Some days it's $1.16, other days it's $1.60 per gallon. Probably some of the cheapest in the country.

lately its been fairly consistant-

about a $1.50 per galon at some places and about a $1.60 per galon at others

i suppose we are talking about regular unleaded:confused:

Yep. In the UK unleaded averages 80p per litre. That works out somewhere around US$1.12 a litre, or $5+ per Imperial gallon - I say Imperial gallon, as the US gallon is slightly smaller.

My friend in Atlanta nearly had a heart attack when we told her 5 bucks a gallon...

Diesel is about the same, super unleaded is about 90p a litre. LRP is in the middle somewhere and LPG is low 30s.
Damn government tax... 80% of the cost of the petrol!

Lol..The sad thing is it's 2.56 For 82(82ish, I forgot the #) Octane here...92 Octane is the highest we get in phx..WHICH SUX!!!!!!! and it cost $2.99 and 9/10th's of a dollar..a gallon

I have to run 92 octane in the Neons, which is about $1.71 USD/gal here. Regular 89 octane unleaded is $1.61 USD/gal, and 94 octane is around $1.84 USD/gal.

Why 92 octane? I always thought Neons were recommended regular unleaded...

...unless you are one of those people that thinks higher octane than specified is good...

Mopar Performace computers in them. They've got a lot more spark advance than the stock PCM, so they want 92.

Actually, stock DOHC Neons want 92 also. They'll run OK on 89, but the ping sensor will back a lot of the timing off and you'll never make full power. Stock SOHCs are optimized for 89 and run worse on 92.

Hmmm.

Normal 95 octane is usually around 1.20€ (1.40 USD) a liter.
Then 98 octane about 1.30€ (1.53 USD) a liter.

Don't know how the octanes match the ones used in other countries.

But like I have always said. Everything is bloody cheap in USA :banghead:...

Actually, that's a bloody good point from vrmx... We use regular 95 octane too - Super unleaded is 98 octane and goes down the holes of performance cars (like my brother's RB5). 89 and 92 octance is just... poor :D

i heard 90% of our fuel price is tax, famine. we have our own crude oil!!! that means we could be living it up just like saudi arabia or the usa, but no we are taxed out of our minds and all the money manages to disappear before it is used on our public services. u know the congestion charges they introduced in london? over the last few years they had programmed the traffic lights to increase congestion, now when they put the tolls in, they programmed them properly and suddenly traffic drops, its all a scam... but thats a different topic.

as for fuel, where do u live rumple? that sounds rather expensive (if its in the usa)

as far as im aware we don't have anything lower than 95 octane here anymore, at least i haven't seen it. you gotta be careful in germany cause their 'bleifrei' or something is only 92 and it messes ur car up, u need to use the 'benzin bleifrei' to get 95.

and does anyone else in the uk remember that fuel prices were around the 50-55pence per litre mark in 1997 before labour came into power????

I remember petrol being £1 a gallon in 1985. Now THAT'S inflation :D

When I passed my test in 1995 it was 43.9p a litre. When I was finishing uni in 1999 it was 69.9p a litre. When we had the blockades in 2001 it was 79.9p a litre, then it went down to 74.9 for a while, and now it rarely gets below 80p. Bring back the tractor blockades! :D

I didn't care at the time - my car had 5 gallons left in it, and 50mpg performance. I just left it in 5th gear for a fortnight. My dad had an Explorer... 19mpg at best...

hmmm, i was young then but i seem to remember in the mid eighties, coke cans costing 17p each. since they cost about 45 now, thats what a 160% increase? now since fuel is now ummm £4 a gallon? (is it 4 litres in a gallon?) that makes it a 400% increase. and i thought the oil crisis was in the 70's!!! :/ heh

and duo17, thanks for the info... i actually noticed a few seconds after i posted.

4.564 litres in a gallon. More-or-less. :D

Creme Eggs ARE smaller now than they were in 1985. And I remember Mars Bars being 8p. They're now, what, 35p? I don't eat them much these days - I prefer the hard stuff (Dairy Milk, 400g :D).

I was 8 in '85 :D

$1.37 to $1.48 here in Orlando.

Unless you are close to Disney and those areas... where we Floridains take advantage on those who travel here. Its about $1.75 to $1.85. Thats per gallon.
