Ive driven one of skips formula dodges. 135hp/1100lb. pretty quick. Ive also driven my 88 m3 at the track. Its probably 210hp/2750lb. The car isnt super quick, but its more of a funfactor thing. It is a blast to drive.

Ive ridden in, hmmm, lets see........

e30 m3 race car w/ 250rwhp on street tires though. it was wicked because it was the same car i drive.

315hp m coupe w/ VANOS. had hoosiers and coilovers rated at something like 500/700. This thing was a monster. It gripped in the corners and stopped like mad. The harness was choking the hell out of me in right corners, haha. My car was just reaching 120 at the end of the straight, the m coupe was just reaching 150, and pulling like my car did in 3rd gear. I am definately going to have to own one of these in the future.

what about you?

I drove a old Formula Ford at Phillip Island many years ago on a Dunlop tyre day. I have no idea how it handled, the turn-in was obscenely quick, it was like driving an enclosed kart. I think I stuffed up about 1 in 3 gear changes. I also drove a base EA model Falcon on slicks - slicks are A M A Z I N G....

yea, it is hard to compare driving a street car to one of the open wheelers. even the formula dodges with michelin radials had neck snapping turn-in.

I drove a detuned Formula Palmer Audi single seater at a corporate day once. Something like 200hp, 500KG.

holy shlt. I know what you are talking about. the specs for the 2003 season are 250hp i think, and then there is the "boost" button which triggers the cars engine to produce something like 315hp for 15 seconds.

I hope to drive one of those cars one day.

I'd love to go back. It was wet, and it was the first car I was to drive that day, so even though I'd had a 75-minute drive to the track, I was still nervous and wooden. I would have preferred to start out with something more 'normal'.

That said, when you buried the throttle in this thing, you were pretty much hanging on, and the trick was not to brake too early, then you could carry more speed and use the downforce. It was ace, but like I say, I'd love to do it again.

i have an ear to ear grin right now, hehehe. sounds like fun. you have a cool boss :)

i know how it feels to get an opportunity like that, and not feel you got everythng you could have out of it. it isnt a good feeling.

had you driven anything else at a track before?

I did the whole corporate day: The Motorsport Sensation.

I got a lot out of the day, and the ordering was pretty much random luck. I was quick in some of the cars, not so in others.

I had driven my own Impreza at a Dealer's track day at Knockhill.

it was cool in the inside but it was only 70's one
heres a pic

I haven't got the opportunity to drive an open wheel car except for a sprint car on dirt. this paticular car was aound 800hp and weighed around 1200 puonds. It was a rush and talk about quick! They turn around 140mph on a 3/8 mile track. I also have driven a dirt late model, modified and street stock car at our local 1/4 mile track. The late model runs about 90 -100mph depending on track tackiness. The mod runs around 80mph and the street stock is about 60 to 75 on any given weekend. I have also had a few cars that I took to the Dragstrip. My favorite was a 1977 280Z that had a chevrolet V8 in it. The V8 was a 408 cubic inch small block. I drove this car everyday but took it to the drags on the weekend. Oh and it ran an elapsed time of 11.7 seconds at 132mph.
