How should online lobbies be used for practicing?

I’m thinking that online practicing for the Academy qualifier using a lobby with groups will be difficult unless done with good planning. Two of the three tracks are accessible for practice but Rome will be difficult. I think that we can just run on the track backwards but there won’t be any timing. So that is my concern.

I just don’t know how racing against each other in groups will help us to improve our qualifier times. I think that the help will come from verbal pointers and possibly observations from the lobby by others watching and commenting as someone is on the track by themselves.

We will need to come up with the same cars for the online group practices so we will need suggestions for ways to get our hands on the same cars. If the cars can be obtained by wining some event and someone knows which event it would be then that would be a help. If the only way we can get them is to purchase them, then that would help. If someone has one of the cars and a buddy needs one then they can use the save feature to give the car away without losing the car from the donors garage.

These are just a couple of the issues that crossed my mind in trying to make sense of the lobby thing as a training mechanism for the Academy. Please give your thoughts and ideas on ways that we can put together some meaningful practice sessions.
