I'm using an R390 GT1 Road car, all possible mods, super soft tires,486 H.P. Max. Trial Mountain , 120.385. Do I need more practice? Remember two wheels on the track at all times!:banghead: :banghead: :D :D

ok...I took a quick crack at this, and found that you are quicker than quite a few people out there.

That is a pretty good run. I took a few laps at it last night, and came up with a fairly loose 1’20.045. I’ll give you another crack at it before I push it down into the 1’19 range. After watching the replay, it looks possible to move into the 1’18 range with practice.

So yes, you did have a pretty fast lap, now the question is, do you want to see how much more you can get out of it?

What did you use for settings? Post them up, and we’ll see what pointers we can give you. What are you using for a controller set-up? I’m not the fastest racer here, but I’ll help all I can to give you chances to improve.

If you’ve got a sharkport, here’s the replay.

Well I gave it another shot this morning, 120.309. Santa didn't bring me a shark port this year. I'll have one within the next couple of weeks. Dual shock controller, analog mode, both joysticks are used. The road car has very few settings possible. Here they are: Suspension ,none possible. brakes: 15frt 14rear Gear ratio: auto set 29 downforce: .74frt. 1.08rear A.S.M. 10 T.C.S. 5 I would appreciate any and all recomendations and or pointers. Education is power, when we cease to learn , we cease to exist!! thanx:banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :D :D :D :D :D

OK...a bit of confusion exists on my part. You noted all possible mods in the first post, but yet you note "suspension, None possible" in the previous note.

should I have installed the suspension on my car? For that matter...Full racing transmission?

A note: drop ASM to Zero. While it helps maintain your car balance when coming into a corner, it is a hindrance to proper cornering. Since you are running a mid level powered car, with super softs, drop TCS to 1 or 2. TCS will help you from spinning the tires, but it limits the available power you can apply to the ground. Careful throttle control will be needed in high powered cars when running low TCS. I turned ASM off many moons ago, and it has made me a better driver.

Settings:
Final drive 4.418, Auto Setting at 27
DF: 0.74/ 0.91
Brakes: 16/21
Camber: 3.3/1.7
Ride Height F: 55/59
Toe: 0/0
Bound: 6/7
Rebound: 8/9
Stabilizers: 5/5
LSD: 7/15/11

Analog sticks are good. Much more precise throttle control, and smoother steering transition. Are you braking early enough for corners? As a further hint, I'm only hitting the brakes 5 times through out the entire lap. Once just before entering the first tunnel, once at the hard right after the first tunnel. I let up slightly taking the corner into the third tunnel (no brkaing here). The third braking point is at the bottom of the hill, for the green monster. Fourth is the left after the top of the hill, for this, I actaully brake before the peak of the hill, and coast into the corner. The suspension is unloaded at this point, so any braking plays havoc in this turn. Last braking point is at the bottom of the next hill, after the 3rd time check (quadrant). Then it's full power up the hill, across the flat with a slight let-up in throttle before the chicane into the finish line.

Excellent theory on the learning process. One I follow as well.

Der Alta, I screwed up! I had the racing suspension purchased but not installed. Yes I had the racing trans and the racing diff. installed. Can you ever forgive me?I'm going to install the susp. and run some more laps. Thanks very much for your suggestions. I'll give 'em a try. :banghead:

I've got it now. With the suspension installed and your settings as a starting point, I turned a 1'19.911. Thanks for your insight. I think I'll move on to another.

Nice run. Glad to know I helped. For a wealth of info that I posted here, take a look in the GT3 forum under write-ups. You'll probably have to look back further than 20 days, and it's a bit of reading.

Feel free to drop me a PM or post up another run.
