Hi guys. Although I've been using a computer for a while, I still don't know why my computer will not unzip a .Z file! I use WinZip and they claim that they can unzip .Z files, but it doesn't work on my computer. It worked on my friend's computer. I have a Intel platform PC using Windows XP. Any suggestions? Is there another program that can unzip .Z files? Do I have to run it under a different environment? Help

What kind of file is it, by that I mean what are you trying to use it for?

Here is some info on that extention. On WinZip's site, they say that it can handle .z file extentions. Is the file that you are trying to extract the same on both your's and your friend's machine? If not the file you are trying to extract may be corrupted in some way.

You might have to try out other programs too. Gzip might also be able to do it, and I think it's free.
