Guys , i need some help with driving how u should drift with a controller ?

I am always hitting the wall please help me it would be kind of u :).

I use a controller, granted I'm still not very good...

Ensure that you don't over-compensate with the counter-steering, that was my biggest problem when I first started.

Throttle control - I use the X button, rather then the left stick. I flutter the gas throughout the turn.

Just getting used to it took me about 4-5 hours

nice vid but it dont explain the answer to the question in the OP 👎

Yeah, it's just showing how I do it.

- It's fair to say I'm one of the best controller drifters around, by getting into the top 50 on Fuji Speedway in GT5P (Rankings)

The main thing is to try to over accelerate when on a corner, and you can usually control it very easy with a controller, by tapping it to the certain level to get around the corner, that is how I do it.

Heres a video of my hands in view. If you notice my steering is done by a series of taps. Reason being that the analog stick only requires a small distance of travel to translate into a full steering lock. Its hard to precisely countersteer with so small of a movement with the analog, so to get around this you tap the steering inputs.

Take note of the gas, brake, ebrake inputs (the hud) and the relation to the turn.

Like Borodori's video shows, this isn't something that can be explained really. He's pressing buttons too quickly and making too many adjustments to teach some one to do. So long as you know the basics you just have to practice. Turn in, give it power, make adjustments but don't over-adjust. Typically if you can see the car doing something that needs correcting it's too late.

i dont know about other controller users, but i have changed my accelerate/brake to L2/R2. Gives me a lot better throttle and brake control as i can easily hold it half in and such.

got the gear up/down as the right stick...

I'll look into that, since I'm still using X.

I'm also a controller user and I also use R2/L2.

Yep, found that there was more precise control with these during the GT Academy trial. I've mapped shift up to X and shift down to square, with handbrake on circle so it can quickly be jabbed with my thumb.
