How to get started?

So I went and bought the Live for Speed S2 License today. What is the best way to start out? Should I just pick a car and a track to practice on? Are there particular combos that are popular online? Is it hard to find a good group of people to race online with?

I've gone through most of the training sessions. I think the only one that I haven't done is the BMW Sauber overtake. I've also made the decision to go with the clutch and 6-speed on the G25 whenever possible rather than using the paddles (which is how I play GT5P).

Click 'Conns' in the upper right corner to sort by how full the servers are.

Servers are most busy around 3 PM Eastern time (-5GMT). Start off with any car you want. try and not be more than a few seconds away from the world record for that track/car combo.
have fun! make use of LFS world too. Try to get in a league once you feel comfortable with the cars. Also, there's plenty of high res texture packs to download if your PC can handle them. updated tire graphics, reflections etc.
