With the possibility of 120 FPS For GT7 and PS5 this could be the game changer Console racing has been waiting for. There will be no Fortnight mania but it could turn racing fans into drivers and great competition could benefit online racing. The one thing that the PS5 and GT7 has over PC Simulators is everyone is using the same console Hardware and GT7 software in a online race . The only disadvantages one can get On there competition is there internet connections and maybe Choice of controller.

It’ll turn accidentally online players like me into offline players again haha

You are a online race car Driver now , why aren’t you looking for the best competition to make you the best online driver in the world of PS5 owners of GT7.

Too much drama in online gaming so I can’t wait for a full offline GT to get back to playing for fun. Not everyone cares about competitive gaming. I got Top 10s and great results. I’ll get in lobbies for fun but eSports are not for me. Can’t say I haven’t tried it all ;)

Good for you finding fun in Your racing , there will come a day when PD and Sony will Be looking to to make more money and make the investment In online racing when that day comes online racing might be your thing.

The purest competition is testing myself against the clock. I know I’m not a top 100 driver. I’m doing well to dip into the top 1000. Even in top ranked lobbies. The lack of fear from crashing, means it’s difficult to have a clean, respectful, race.

PD have nailed online racing. You still hear lots of complaints about the penalty system. But I don’t think that will ever change. Just as real life drivers always feel they’re on the wrong end of a decision.

I just want CaRPG back with a renewed emphasis on single-player content. If they can improve the AI and challenge. Great.

To answer the title question, make access easy like what they've done for GT Sport. I was late to jump I Sport Mode, but it's easy.

I mentioned a suggestion of allowing players to stay in a driver ranking of choice. Excluding the players that ruin everyone's races, choosing to remain in say a B/S rank or D/S, it'd be similar to joining a Lobby with restricted driver rankings.

The races need to be in a large scope of choices, like we saw the Seasonals in GT6. With more choices/combinations, it's possible offline players may begin to venture online.

Racing the clock for one lap for The best time is ok . Beating the competition in a race of 15 cars you don’t have to beat all the drivers just the one in front you. Trust me the excitement of starting 12 place on the line up , after 5 lap you are in the top five that to me as good as a first place. In competition with other drivers the race is not over until the Checker flag and you have the opportunity to out drive the A rated real drivers do that a few times see how great that is.

With PS5 you will have the best PD can give you for a Online Racing experience . Don’t forget PS5 console is the sole computer everyone has to use In GT7 it’s the Beginning source For the Simulator Software. In the real Word the Race tracks is The beginning source . This Is were The playing field of fairness begins In some cases ends. This is where you and the race Will make you what kind of Driver you are , Online or offline. Sure sounds like BS but it’s my opinion that’s all.

I.....genuinely have no idea what you're trying to say.

Online races are all terrible in compare to AI competition. There is a lot of pressure, frustrations like lags, and include bad drivers. It is in general not worth it test of nerves, if it is not a esport championship. I'm online driver mostly, but some times it feels more dull than any AI race, in both way - either competition is out of you pace, or you somewhere behind struggling because countless reasons that others seem avoided in this race, but you unfortunately, again, didn't. Online racing just to unstable to become a main toy for people who enjoy stability.

In the end, if only all, without exception, online drivers knew what racing they commit. Even in serious sims you can meet mario kart style boi, who knows why still playing a simulator and ruin all immersion to everyone. General aim to make those who online to become decent racers, and then invite others.

No amount of FPS will turn me into an online driver, sorry.

I used to lurk that god-awful "penalty system is a piece of 🤬" thread and came to the conclusion that I have no desire in all the drama, raging and sometimes national hatred that apparently comes with Sport mode.

I guess the salt water that’s separating us can be a problem. I am saying Not all Individual PCs in a Online race like IRacing or any PC games are equal There is a minimums just to get on the web site to drive or play . If you are using a console For online racing it is what it is , everyone will be on The same computer console for the drive. When I say beginning source of competition it is the computer , a console or a PC Because without them you are just picking your nose.

Think PD has an opportunity to redefine the ONLINE experience. Competition isn't the only thing, online can be broadened to encompass other activities like social, communal and participatory beyond what we currently know...

Racing is not social work it doesn’t need to fix the world , just give the best simulator realism and good competition in online racing. Let the fantasyland gaming to the social work.

Fantasyland gaming? That's a very odd choice of words.

Here's the thing, unless they drastically overhaul the online experience so users like me can be paired with users of my skill and get rewarded better I'm unlikely to care. The current system doesn't do a good job, it tries, but still sucks. I either get paired with someone faster than me or I get paired with people slower than me. Neither is a fun experience. And online racing just isn't worth it since I don't get paid better than if I were to do a certain offline race.

If I'm watching your answer, then I'm really similar. But ofc I cannot know why you find it more fun to play offline outside the drama.
Recently sadly I had very bad situations when aggressive players started to blshtting about the race we ran. It came from an esport driver that made it more surrealistic (I will not share his name, I closed the thing btw).
{End of quote :D}

So I don't need this anymore. I was an offline player mostly until GTS came, and had to taste the online fun. If I need to explain lobby racing with 1 word when im racing with friends: fantastic. I couldn't imagine how awesome it was to race in lobbies. So if I need to make an order, I'll go with this (in view of fun):
friends > offline ai > (most) strangers > bullies.
Its a +1 vote for me that I will never ever play again in sport modes. I'll let that for those people who are really into racing (clean, fair players) OR wanna fight really aggressively, even dirty (egocentrist bullies)
So, let's be honest, no software ai can deal with events happening live in everyone's living room. No ai can decide (and never will) which move was on purpose and which one wasn't.
I already thought about leaving online multiplayer and convert this hobby to an offline one (happily i have plenty others). Im still on the edge to leave it, since why would I pay for psplus when im not feeling good during the gameplay? (Ofc I'm not buying pp for only GT's online modes btw, but that's for another forum)
For me its really really nice that single is coming back. Please don't let us down again PD.

(P.s.: Oh, and rating lovers, im A-S with a GTS platinum trophy in my bag, before someone prepares an attack)
