How to make a really consistent competition

I'm thinking of starting a new competition ( I know ;)) but I had a little idea on how to make it run a lot smoother. If you set 3 dates and times for the qualifying and battles, then if you can't make it your out. 1 event for all qualifying, 1 event for the top 32 and one for the top 16 up to the final. I know some reliable judges and it could all be sorted out very easily.
Can I get some input on this, what do you guys think?

I like the "if you don't show - your out" rule and the set dates. The problem is finding "reliable judges" who are fair and impartial.

Your event has more potential than the other one's I have seen (no offense to anyone)...

Well, you know that people with connection problems can't join this event right?
Something that just popped into my mind, could be stupid. It requiers a LOT of battles, but if you have 16 people, make it a reall table tournament? Everyone meets all the other drivers once, and the scores are counted and added up, for a leaderboard... (Although, it would require a lot of battles...:s)

Mix up the rules. Try different types of racing, for instant. Drift vs GRip, Drifting in raining conditions, Point to Point races, Drifting racing ( not section but entire tracks that are not normally used).

@Gonales - Yeh the table idea would take forever, I was thinking more of a short and sweet event that can be ran regularly without any mishaps ;)

@Nk4E - What do you mean?

@Gauz - If I can find some reliable judges then I would happily run it :D

Well, instead of having the normal H2H matches. Try something different, themes are good. Though have we challenged outside of the Drifting community before? No. Have we expanded on drifting than just sections and judging everything by speed, angle, and smoke? Possibly. I would like to see the competition mix up a bit. The WRS community sounds fun to prove which one is faster every so often.
If a person can't make it, then give them a slap on the hand and give them a good time to make it up. If they can't make it up within that time limit, DQ them. As for judges, we need a variety and agree upon a set of rules than just "Lets go by FD" rules. Not alot of people do go by FD rules..but for more judges, I could take the time off to judge if I could stream it or youtube it.

Im not even sure about catchup sessions though...
If you missed the qualifying IRL for FD or D1 then you wouldn't have a second chance, I know it may be harder for competitors in other countries (Me being GMT) but maybe I could do an EU only competition.

You could do everything in sections leading to a bigger bracket. Say like we have someone watch over this part of the world and another watch the other. The best out of those area's go on to face each other. Are we trying to make it like IRL or our own thing?

I do want it to be like IRL really but I like your Idea...
We have two competitions for Europe & America and then once both are finished then take the top 16 for both and run like a world series. Anyone want to run the US (or maybe asia?) event?

Yeah Knight your much more mature and organized to pull this off I think. But If you can find a couple other partners that have the same mind set they could host America or Asia and your Europe? I would be down to help where ever I can, After 6 PST weekdays and kinda variable weekends

it has to be europe, usa and asian division.
sorry but i think top 16 is way to many if americans is going to battle europeans.

top 8 at max barely that works.
