How to start races from a standstill

I just got GT4 after being a big fan of GT2 all those years ago. One that that I have found that really annoys me is most races seem to start with the cars moving. I know there are some actual races that do this, but it annoys me in the game. I like to use my lowend to get an advantage early on in the race.

So how does one turn that off? I would like all races to start with the cars at a standstill with the timer.

Thanks!

Welcome to GTPlanet Ndsharp! Its great to see new GT4 drivers!

I'm afraid that Giygas is correct, there is no way to change the starts. My guess-estimate is that about 60% of the races start with this rolling start.

This would be nice. I can think of a few races where this would help a lot! Sadly we just have to come through the pack, rubbing fenders as we go.:mischievous:

Good luck with your game.

There is a way to start races at every track at a standstill... ;)

However, it requires 2 - 6 x PS2s, 2 - 6 x GT4 disks, 2 - 6 x controllers, 2 - 6 x TVs, 2 - 6 x Ethernet cables, a 6-port 10/100MBPs network switch, and 2 - 6 buddies to race against in LAN mode! Something like this:

Yup, all LAN mode races start from a standstill regardless of the track. :D

I'm guessing though, that you're after a way to start races against the AI in this manner, and sadly that's not possible. :(

As awesome as that would be I sadly don't have all that :) I will definatly keep it in mind though. PS2's are getting cheap and I know more then one person who likes to race.

Thanks for the info.

I'll go dig out the back of the sofa right now.👍
