How to suppress an annoying PGR4 fanboy

So on this other forum, I started a thread on GT5 since a good amount of the members like it. All of a sudden, some fan boy of PGR4 comes along and starts moaning. Even after being proved that GT5 is the better game, even in demo stage he's relentless in his efforts to sway people with BS. Anyone encounter such a dimwitted person? :indiff:

First off, it's only an internet forum.
In the grand scheme of things, in a while, what your argued about won't matter.
Both may be good games.
For the lucky that have systems that support both games they can spend up that disposable income, and buy them both, and enjoy them both or hate one over the other.

If you argue with this person about it, you'll be agitated.
Perhaps he'll be agitated.
But what have you gained in the end, even if you "win" the arguement, or "public opinion"?

Let it go. Agree to disagree. In the end, and in the long run, you'll feel better.

I've been subject to too many flame wars to feel any other way.

Problem is, I'm not arguing. The issue is, for years our people (PS) have verbally assaulted their people (XBOX). When is the day going to come, where we're both at ease with each other. People just don't have common sense anymore. It was so much easier years ago, pin ball machines were all the hype, then came pac man. Which still today is by far one of my most favorite old games.

Why are you trying to compare the games? They aren't even similar. Plus GT5 isn't even out yet so you can't possibly know if it will be a good game or not, we can guess on how it will be based on a demo but I thought GT4 was going to be the most amazing thing in the world and it wasn't....it was actually quite a let down.

But like Gil said, in the end it doesn't much matter since it's just a video game, it's not going to affect your life much.

Tempest and Zaxxon myself.👍
My dad beat me too much at Pac-man. I still have a "complex"

Remember, there are people out there that can't be happy, unless they are being asshats about something.
People are gonna argue about which is better till the end of the earth.
Ford vs Chevy, Mercedes vs BMW, Snickers vs Milky Way, come readlly to mind.:D
Playstation vs XBOX will be no different. More's the shame that both systems have some pretty awesome games that are exclusive to the system.

You already know that a closed mind gathers no new intelligence or ideas.
It's a lot like trying to teach a pig to sing. You waste your time energy and patience. You annoy the pig. AND the pig never gains your appreciation for the music.:sly:

If you ignore fanboy's rants, he will be annoying for a time, then he will tire of the arguement cause he isn't getting the attention he craves.
The hard part will be resisting the urge to comment on his crap.

Yes, he usually brings a whole raining parade of asshats with himself as the head asshat. If memory serves me correct, the XBox 360's have something called the 'Red Ring of Death'. I can't wait until it occurs to that selfish close minded person.

hmm two totally different types of games. PGR4 kicks ass!

You, sir, have won yourself an internet.

Gran Turismo = Arguably the best driving simulator there is.
PGR = A damn good arcade racing series.

I don't like referring to the GT series as a 'driving simulator' because if I do, it becomea obvious to me that it is a slightly shallow one - certainly in comparison to the likes of GTR2 etc. Unless of course we want to label games like that as "Serious driving simulators, for the serious. Yes, seriously."

Lets just say that GT is absobluddylootleyfantastic.

well, most people who are serious about driving simulators dont even consider GT in the top 8

Actually, this thread is not pointless.
We are venting about dealing with annoying internet weenies.

The point being, that everyone can be ignored till they get bored, move on to some other PITA topic, or start having an EEG with wavy lines, instead of straight ones.

This really isn't about which is better PS*(whatever number) or XBOX(whaterver suffix).
It's really about dealing with overdeveloped loyalty to a system or whatever.

It's like those bumper stickers that say "I'd rather push a (insert car brand here), than drive a (insert competing car brand here)."
It's great to be loyal, but this is a person that clearly hasn't figured out that it's better to ride than walk, especially if walking means pushing a car.

Same principle, larger toy.

Ok, fine. But it doesn't change the fact that GT strives to simulate driving as realistically as possible, while PGR4 obviously does not.

well actually i dont think gt strives to simulate driving as realistically as possible. Kazunouri basically admitted that with various gt4 interviews. :P There are lots of basic things missing from gt5. even basic things that real life tuners tweak 1st like tire pressure are missing from GT4.

hopefully gt5 will have a decent physics engine.

I always did find the statement 'The Real Driving Simulator' on the entire series to be a bit ironic. Am I the only one with a few others?

Well, some batches of PS3s have what I like to call the "Red Power Indicator and Beep of Death"

I've gotten around this tit-for-tat support the flagship for your chosen console, by buying both and when GT5 comes out, I'll finally buy a PS3. I've had them all, so there's no point not buying the next one. It's not the most exciting game and has sold on its graphics for years, but it's nothing but essential.
