Drag every thing from muscle to import to euro all drivetrains except FF! I really want to learn. How do you tune suspension, do you keep the transmission as if it was a RWD/ AWD car, Wing or no wing and most importantly the weight balance.

The best way to learn to tune anything would be trial and error as with everything else. There is no one universal good setup for any one particular drivetrain. It varies from car to car depending on a number of factors (weight, power, etc.) With the speed test dlc the effects of your adjustments are easily and immediately seen. You can work off of each improvement you make until you come up with a decent all around tune. Also, you would probably generate more useful information asking this in the drag racing forum. 👍

Thanks for the tip 👍

If you can put front downforce on it, do it.
If you're having excessive wheelspin, try more ballast in the front.
Dont put a wing on it if you don't have to.
Play with toe a lot.

Thanks I have a pretty decent Scirocco that's beaten a couple cars but I was still confused on weather or not I was doing it right.

12 flat with 518hp for my scirocco, mind you I had the base created by kleomenis so 👍 to him

Everything I did to my ff made it worse. I almost had better times with it before trying to tune it. Hats off to all you ff tuners! 👍

OK first off these are my setting and what i do when creating a ff 1/4 tune.

I use No wing i always add weight to the car put toe on rear tires use no camber at all. Make sure im not bouncing on rev limiter during launch, ride height in front lowest ride height in rear highest, high LSD's.

Ok thanks I gotta work on my Scirocco it has a lot of wheel spin in the launch but it usually gets the other Hondas in about 4th gear. And mine only has 430hp? And 300miles on it.

My friend you mean 418ps no 518ps!!!!

Yeah sorry my bad

I meant 418 haha, I have 0 miles.. Needa find a slipstream buddy to help me at SSRX lol

Very much so. About the only thing that I can make sense of is the tranny lol. The suspension gives me fits.

It's not as hard as you'd think. Start moving random things around until you see a difference - if it's bad, move it the opposite way until it stops getting better. I've found each FF car likes different specs in different locations, same as with a lot of RWD cars too. But they all generally like around 65-100kg ballast in front and low/max ride height config.

Lol I did one small gear ratio change and made my dc5 improve from 11.837 to 11.734.. One gear was changed! And like 1/10 of it..

the best way to break in a car is run the laguna seca b spec endurance race. when youre finished playing grab the car and put it in that race. go to sleep for the night and wake up to a broken in car. dosent matter if you win because your just after the mileage.

I find a buddy and we both get our cars broken in in under an hour and we can muck around a little too. Using SSRX I broke my dc5 in under 50 mins..

so using ballast is a must? i am hittin 12.1s in my eg civic is that ok?

IDK about that specific Civic but most of the Honda FFs I've seen run low 11.7s and high to mid 11.6s. I can't remember what my RM Civic does offhand but I'm sure its in that range, so non-RM civics should be a little higher. Aim for the 11s.

My scirocco does a 11.689 but still has a lot of wheel spin. When it comes to adjusting the weight ballast how much is too much and what is the average amount?

Trial and error, start shifting 50 forward and keep adding until it improves. Hey my Srt4 I ended up using 200kg at the end.

Wow I was thinking maybe 10kg ok thanks for the tip 👍

Think of it like this.. A FF has the engine at the front of the vehicle as well as being powered by the front wheels.. When you accelerate all that weight is shifted towards the back of the car.. As the boot and back of the car is presumably empty.. Unless in the case of my cars.. Which have 2 15"OA subs powered by a Kenwood Prime Series amp... Anyway.. You want something at the front of the car to keep the wheels on the ground.. I.e a ballast between 100 and 200 kg :) I hope that was simple enough

I'm a massive car geek and I all ready kinda knew that I just never got involved with FF drag and i didn't know how much weight to put.
Thanks anyways though, btw why are you explaining it to me like I'm a six year old

If you're doing that in a scirocco you really don't need much help! Mine does 12.004

lol I guess I was expecting to much from it! btw it seems like my launch is better I put the ballast at 155kg and it beats civics in launches. I'm waiting for a SRT-4 to go up against but no one has brought one out in any of the rooms I've been in.
