I've been on this forum for a while and I have been playing the Gran Turismo games since GT1. I feel I keep improving but I am wondering, how well am I really doing? So I ask from you my fellow GTers, can you tell me how well am I doing? So my details are this:

Car: Kents 01 Honda Civic Type R
Track: Infineon Raceway Sports car Course
Time: 1:51.060

If you need any other info please ask and I will try my hardest to help. I have a full replay save but it is 49 minutes and too large to upload. I could email it at 1.5MB just pm me. I got this time by doing a track day at the said track. BTW please be nice! :nervous: :)

I'd like to help, but I know Grand Valley Speedway best, it's almost my home course and has been my fave track since GT1, not to mention I have a similar view from my dining room window as you get looking out over the bridge across the Valley. If you could provide GVS lap times I might be able to help.

tomorrow after work I will hit this track. It was a track that I liked I just didn't really drive it a whole lot. I usually run about 20 or so laps if I am really feeling it. Sometimes I do 20 lap arcade runs but I can't use my modded cars which is what I like driving. Thanks for replying. I will try to upload my ghost if I feel I did well once I finish this.

compare lap time with other players and also compare laps form the older games...but the other games (GT1 GT2 GT3) may have slight differences in track length and times

Well my whole goal was to eliminate the fact that the car could be set up differently and all that. I was hoping on exact same car, exact same track. I could use that as a starting place I guess.

You can just save the best lap replay, rather than the whole session...

I'm in the same boat - I'm planning to take some old lap times from the Weekly Race Series that's run here and see how I stack up against the scores in the archives. Read the rules first though - it's clean laps etc., I just know having to clean up my driving's gonna slow me down ;)

Unfortunately I had a brainfart for the WRS qualifier, and saved the session, so now I have about 50 minutes to sift through.

Anyway, what are your licenses? All golds, or close to it? I may try the same setup tonight for fun but Infineon is my single worst course so I probably won't stack up very well.

You should try some of those WRS races and see how you compare. When you do make sure to check official times for each week. Any of the leaderboards will probably show you time splits for each weeks race. If you find your times comparable take the qualifier and compete with us. These are races with minimal specification changes, so I believe it's more driver competative, though last weeks race was gt mode (practice).

Well with the car in the first post I did a 1:16.389 on Grand Valley East track. I attached a maxdrive save of the ghost.

Maybe I still have that car, I'll see what I can do, I'm a midpack driver as far as GTP goes, div 2 in weekly race series, achieved a gold time at GVS in a Zonda LM one week but not awarded because I don't have the ability to upload replays. I'll do some laps and can compare.

I setup the Kent car, just as Kent advised in his post, and ran 3 laps of Infineon, which gave me a starter time of 1'49.588

Then i had a go at Grand Valley East, again 3 laps, and got a lap time of: 1'15.853 so i would say that you are definitely a good driver, who maybe needs to work more on your circuit knowledge, rather than your car control.

If you can get times like that round GVEast, then you must be pointing the civic in the right directions at the right moments.

I would say that i found the infineon time easier to beat because it is a circuit that has a lot of trix to mastering it, and different lines are available depending on car type and personal driving style, and will only become obvious to someone who spends a lot of time there. The lap is longer, and this means there is more time to improve your lap, and more time to make mistakes also.

In closing, i would say, get your arse in the WRS, because you should breeze into Division 2, if not 1, and have a lot of fun racing similar speed racers, and learn so much more about lines and circuit secrets in such a short space of time there.

I havent saved either of the laps quoted here, but if you want examples, i can create some for you.

Good luck

I would love if you could upload a replay of infineon. I do find that track kind of hard I think its mostly getting up the hills and the downhill going onto the dragstrip. I would love to be faster so learning lines is not a problem.

Your NTSC, im PAL, so you wont be able to view any of my replays bud.
Ive got no way of showing them as video, so you'll have to keep practising.

Sorry about that.

Ive done a 1'48.908 today, which i saved. Thats about as much as i want to try this combo for now. Good luck and let us know how you do.
