Greetings All You Lead Foots, And Other Mischief Makers!
I have achieved, what at least I presume to be, a rather lofty level of credits. I currently have available 4.85 million available to spend, and being the miser that my Scotch blood dictates genetically that I be, I wish to utilize it wisely.
Ahead of me are most of the endurance contests, several Extreme hall events, and a hanfdul of assorted events that I have yet to peruse.
I am sure that many of you have vastly more experience, and have an opinion that will be greatly helpful.
To be quite honest, emptying my account, is something that I am somewhat timid of. Because of my advanced years, I might not be possesing of the faculty's required to again recover my mispent lucre!
So simply asked, How would you spend 4.5 million for a vehicle!
Your Anxiously Awaiting Servant
Fangio

I'd spend the 3.5mil on a Pescarolo-Peugeot Courage, or on a Mazda 787B, and spend the rest on a roadcar I really like 👍

Keep saving until you get to day 694. If you have around 8,000,000 credits you will be able to buy the four black beasts (as they have come to be known). A used R92CP, 787B, R390 and a GT-One will all be available for purchase and are well worth the wait.

Other options I would suggest are an Opel Speedster (for the speedster cup) which requires a lot of expensive upgrades to compete; likewise for the 206 cup (unless you use the Rally Car).

Otherwise go and buy the car of your dreams - there will no doubt be somewhere for it to compete.

I'll spend it on various cars, not just one pricey car. I will tune them up, and use them for races. (Example: Used Cars.) I done that plenty of times, and I do not regret it at all. I have so many cars in my memory card... :)

Greetings good Squire fangio12151956!

The 787B is a good deal for 3.5mil Cr, as is the Peugeot 905 (even if it does have ridiculously long gearshift times!) and wouldst leaveth thee with surplus pennies to buy upgrades or indeed another conveyance of the 4-wheeled variety, of such magnificence as the Zonda, an RUF or darest we speak it, the SLR McLaren, and still be left with change!
Thou shouldst not let thyself be tempted by the splendours of the Audi R8, for though it is indeed a beast of huge capability, thou shalt win one when thou completes the Circuit de la Sarthe 24hrs I race in the endurance hall, and would thusly have wasted your money.
And hence, there remains but a sextet of choices for thee, if thy desirest to spend all thy currency in a single transaction. One of these be warned, Squire, is not of the ilk of the others, namely the Panoz Esperante, for though it hath the hugeness of pricetags to match the other 5 chariots, it cannot be considered a gladiator worthy of the same arena as they.
Thy quintet of 4.5mil Cr steeds from which thee must select has become:

BMW V12 LMR Race Car '99
Nissan R390 GT1 Race Car '98
Pescarolo Courage C60/Peugeot Race Car '03
Playstation Pescarolo C60/Judd Race Car '04
Toyota GT-One Race Car (TS020) '99

Choose wisely good Squire, for all are feisty and unruly monsters that may be tamed with care and attention to thy throttle-mashing and brake-stomping!
Respectfully thine,

Horses of Smallness. :D

....my Scotch blood....

You really have Scotch for blood?
Then surely thou must cut down on thine Whisky intake! Dost thou, in fact mean Scottish, or Celtic blood?

I'd spend the 3.5mil on a Pescarolo-Peugeot Courage, or on a Mazda 787B, and spend the rest on a roadcar I really like 👍

Erm. Both the Pescarolos go for 4.5mil Cr in the NTSC version of the game.

Erm. Both the Pescarolos go for 4.5mil Cr in the NTSC version of the game.

Could be wrong, I thought one was cheaper on the PAL version...

If I had the power to e-beat you guys, I'd do it. It hurts my eyes just to read this.

And Fangio - the cars Smallhorses mentioned are all very speedy, and very well capable of winning against their field. The Nissan may struggle, but the rest are all very capable beasts.

Greetings My Leige, Oh Steeds Of Diminutive Stature!
My heart has indeed leapt from my bossom at your obviously well regarded research on behalf of me, the least of your faithful servants.
As my years advance, my meager skills diminish precipitously, and I am indeed in dire need of a most noble warrior to joust with keen competition.
I furrow my brow in consternation, however, at the thought of engaging the services of a French car. My mind doth be somewhat closed on the subject of automotive things French, but I pray your forgiveness for my ignorance.
I confess to be intrigued by your studiously researched list, and with your leave, shall depart to consider your gentle suggestions,
I Remain,
My Leige
Your Humble Servant

....thou vocabulary confuses me....

Indeed yes young man, this much is evident, for thou should've written "thy vocabulary confuseth me" not "thou vocabulary...." ! :P  ("thy" is like "your" while "thou" is like "you") ;)
Thou art truly in a state of bamboozlement!

Boy this is almost a little too elequent for this poor rednex, but still a rather nice change from what my poor eyes usually have to endure....

Anyways I'd go ahead and find myself some car on the cheap end of things and goof off for a while and just have a lil fun. All the while saving your hard earned credits for one of the black beautys.

Bah, don't buy 4,500,000 Cr. race cars. You can win the best ones from the endurances themselves. Just start with the El Capitan race, get the Minolta, and you should be set for all your endurance racing needs.

Be Kind Good Squire,
Our eloquence is indeed a subject of much consternation, and confusion. I feareth that our liguistic parrying is the feed of much tongue wagging.
I too, on a daily basis, am much confused by the language of the young today. Pray thee tell me kind sir, dost thou knoweth the meaning of "Forsooth yon G Dog, for what happenstance occureth today?" I am of much concern in replying to such querries, not wishing to offend.
But again I ramble. I do however remain,
Your Long Winded Servant

Seriously, excellent post, +Rep 👍

The only thing I can say is that I usually buy the car the I'm most interested in. For me, that would the GT- One, that was the first LM-GTP car I bought. Since the AI isn't that hard, althought it may be for some, and you haven't got any troubles beating the AI, you may consider buying the car you really want to have in your garage. Not thinking in a way of that that car has to beat everything but to have it sitting there, in your garage, ready to kill everything in it's path of it doesn't have a choice and showing of its beauty. That's why I bought the GT-One as my first really expensive car. It currently has got 15, 000 km on it. I don't play GT4 too much but if there's one car I'd like to race at La Sarthe or whatever track, it's got to be my GT-One 👍

I love the way thou post thy posts fangio!

Greetings Good Squires, And Brave Knights,
Methinks that this has been a discussion of most lively engagement. Your advice is most generous, and sage in it's wisdom.
I have indeed taken into account all the collective experience and I have set about to change the course of my gaming experience.
I have purchased a most excellent warrior. The ABT TTr. This vehicle is of fantastic breeding and remarkable handling.
I immediately entered the German Touring Car series and proceeded to have the most engaging racing of my short GT4 career.
The most enjoyable contest was the High Speed Ring. With the gentle strains of Pachbels "canon" providing the musical back drop, I set out with the intention of creating mischief and assorted mayhem. This vehicle is a tremendous joy to drive. Entering the deep curves with a tap of the e brake, to set the car into a 4 wheel drift was very reminiscent of my early days in racing piloting 510's and Gremlin X's. The Audi would power slide to the edge of the curbing, and with a stap of the gas would rocket onto the straights with the fury of Jehu's own chariot! The exhaust was a roarty contrast to the gentle strings of the music. The sparks shooting from the undercarriage, the flames bellowing from the sidepipes, the moan of the tires was a symphony of sight and sound that I can only say was visceral in it's effect!
It wasn't until I viewed the replay, that I could truly appreciate the genius of this fine game. The camera angles, the music, even the heat waves rising from the track's surface, absolutely astounding. The devlopers of this simulator are deserving of knighthood! I was so mesmerized, I watched it three times!
Upon winnig the series against some stellar competition, I was again rewarded with the AMG GTR, wich I promptly sold. Now with my coffers swelling, I have now purchased The Pesckylady (sic), which in it's first outing has proven to be a most worthy steed.
I am grateful for all of the well thought out responses, and shall report later on my adventures.
I Remain,
Your Grateful Servant

Young Tulock,
My gratitude for your most astute interperting skills. I find myself a stranger in a strange land, with a look of befuddlement across my countenance! My heartfelt gratitude Young Duke!

Now that you have the Audi Touring Car, you should enter the Duetche Touring Manufatcurer Race in the European Hall, if you do that race you win the CLK GTR Lm or some name like that, once you do all the races and win the car, sell it. After doing the races, which gives you around 150K, and sell the car, which gives you about 750K, you'll never have to worry about money again.

Good squire Fangio of the Nebulous Numbers

I would dare propose a radical idea and propose that thou dost procure all of them!

I would imagine that thou wouldst protest Nay! The coffers mayhap be sufficient for one of the steeds but no more. To this I wouldst agree that this may be true but only for the nonce, whilst observing that lucre is readily obtainable in these realms and should pose no impediment. For instance merely vanquishing thy foes once each with the seven eligible mounts for the Deutsche Touring Car Meisterschaft is a pleasureable and worthy accomplishment, and would garner thee funding adequate for a second mount from Sir Horses of Smallness' esteemed quintet and leave thee with a not inconsiderable surfeit.

So the issue becomes, methinks, which to select first. I too would counsel that the price demanded of the Panoz is much in excess of what thou might accomplish with it and would suggest that the Nissan might be perhaps a bit lacking as well unless thou hast a stout heart and steady hand.

Of the four remaining steeds, I wouldst observe that the Toyota GT-One with ordinary effort and a stage 4 turbo can be coaxed into traveling at a rate which would take it in excess of 806400 furlongs in a mere fortnight, and this without resorting to the dark alchemy of noxious gases. Fortune has smiled upon me and I have accomplished this task myself, which attests to the ease with which the deed be done. Forgive me if my memory doth deceive me, but I believe thou has expressed an interest elsewhere in undertaking that task.

Whichever thou dost choose, go in good health and Godspeed on thy journeys throughout the realm.

Most Wise And Sage Bobk,
Upon review of such excellent counsel, methinks your idea has much merit! Why not obtain, at the expense of hmiliating the malevolent AI, as many high value vehicles as I might. To then fill my stable with noble steeds of great speed and agility, would be a pursuit of the noblest kind!
Good Sqire, you have proved to be of invaluable wisdom! Your counsel is a treasure of inestmable value, and will be gladly be received by me whenever it is profered!
Be of good cheer, sage Earl Of Mayem and Mischief! For I remain,

Good Sire Bob K,

Thou Sir, art a comedic genius beyond compare! :)

Thy posting is of such mirthfulness that I hath resorted to laying on this good and Earthly firmament, making small orbits about my central axis, and duly concerned about the grave and mortal danger of my posterior becoming detached!

I believe, in the modern parlance of the electrickery and wizardry of this most excellent interweb, that a new-fangled translation might read ROFLMAO, which is verily more snappy, but a good deal less eloquent!

An appropriate quantity of "points that be of the reputation ilk" hath been added to thine tally, for taking the time to amuse and delight the patrons of this good site in such a manner.

Respectfully,

Steeds of diminutive stature.

As a sidenote: You guys are some very fine quality trolls. I salute you, I envy you, I admire you. :D
PS. Sorry for reviving a 4 year old thread... but I couldn't help myself to identify 4 of thy grandest Scandinavian fairy anomalies!

On topic now: Personally, I love just blowing money out of my ***hole and burning it all on buying expensive cars and max tuning them to see the fastest 1/4 mile times. Otherwise, I would just find any car with more than 5 variants, buy all thy variant of thy model and hammering a nail through my grandiose buttocks (AKA blowing my funds) by buying all thy modify parts available for thy 4-wheel vehicle model and make.

Funny story:
Last week, I sold all my unused and unwanted cars (204 of them actually out of the 250-ish), thus receiving a sum of coins equivalent to 11.78 million GT4 Credits. 4 days later, you can find 10 NSX-i (plural form of NSX) max tuned and each has 260,000 credits worth of parts and modifications.
Only Race Car I kept was my Trustworthy CLK DTM Race Car for grinding thy championship (DTM races)... havent touched thy CLK DTM ever since... I am now broke. :(

In short:
I grab a car, and shove up its *male-donkey* a big bucket of TNT... know what happens next? It rips a hole through the darned 402 meters of the 1/4 mile test course!

See? I fail at trolling like you guys. I'd rather do it my own way.

I'm glad you revived, it was good for a chuckle, which I would have otherwise missed out on.

Or in the terms of the thread

The revival of such ancient literature, would surely be deemed appropriate when the perusal of said literature is a source of great merriment for any who may not have been present at the time of its prevoius publication.

To answer this is pretty much a moot point by now, and I don't have any of the 4.5m cars (yet), but my opinion is that one of the Pescarolo's, would be have to be among the first of these cars to purchase.
