A bit about myself (as far as racing and cars are concerned at least):
I've always loved cars of all kinds. From the time I was 3 or 4 I could walk through any parking lot and name the make of any car in it. Went to a lot of classic car shows and races of all kinds growing up. My first car was a 1967 Camaro, which I still own. I have also owned an E34 BMW 525i with a 5 speed, and my current daily driver is a 1996 Civic coupe...so I doubt anyone would call me biased![Sly :sly: :sly:](/wp-content/themes/gtp16/images/smilies/sly.svg?v=3)
I've been playing Gran Turismo since the first one, got killer with drifting the '67 Vette around Trial Mountain. GT2 was great for the variety, and I couldn't get enough of the Lotus Elise GT1. GT3 I also had a lot of fun with, I was driving in real life by then, knew more about cars than ever, and in my thirst for domination I maaayyy...*cough* have made a 3000hp Vanquish with Gameshark *cough* hahaha...I bought the only copy of GT4 on my base in Iraq, and completed it while still deployed (I left it running endurance races on B Spec mode while out on mission QUITE a few times). I have completed all of them thus far to 100%, except a VERY few challenges on Prologue that I've only gotten silver on.
I don't use a wheel or even the analog sticks. I was too poor to afford an analog controller for PS1 and by the time I had completed GT1 and 2 I couldn't go back. So it's the D-pad all the way for me
(and to this day I suck at racing games that force you to use the sticks and/or shoulder buttons).
As for GTPlanet, I found it during the endless waiting for GT5 and feverishly rooting around for every last tiny snippet of news about it on the net. So I'm here for the news mostly. But I am pretty knowledgeable about cars and racing history, and if I have anything worthwhile to contribute I will certainly do so. Until then I'll probably keep pretty quiet because I spend too much time on the internet as it is![Dunce :dunce: :dunce:](/wp-content/themes/gtp16/images/smilies/dunce.svg)
So that's me in a nut shell. Howdy.
