From ole' London, UK
For about a year or so, I've been looking for a new forum. I was once part of a prominent Windows forum for about 11 years (from 2001) and about 5 years of those consisted of being a moderator.
But as the years went by (10th/11th year in particular), said forum drastically turned into a cesspool of childish behaviour, fanboy wars were rampant in every topic, the lack of respect for the views of others and I didn't agree with things that were implemented by upper management , so I decided to make a clean break.
GTPlanet came on my radar much earlier though, when news of GT5 was announced and I occasionally lurked on these forums for news, topics etc. but never registered as I was content at the time being on my previous forum. I also enjoyed browsing the GT5 Photomode Forum for the utterly beautiful yet skilful photos of great cars by taken by members 👍
In particular, an still photo of the rear-end of an Pearl Blue LFA with its' flaming exhaust won me over (I still don't know who took the photo to this day ....) and I knew I had to own GT5 .... and a PS3
And so, I picked up a PS3 Slim with GT5 Academy Edition a few months ago, currently going through A/B-Spec. I also game on PC (not so much now due to the hassle of upgrading hardware all the time) as well as my Xbox 360; the Forza/NFS series being a firm favourite on this platform.
Then I decided to join here about two weeks ago; the community looked interesting/knowledgeable, I wanted to know more about GT6 and was looking for information on tuning cars (for a seasonal). Which there seems to be a ton of!
And on that bombshell, I think that should be enough for an introduction. Looking forward to converse with the automotive community here!
