How's Shift 2 with a wheel?

I do owe NFS Shift an apology about one thing - with regard to the throttle having no subtlety, this isn't quite true. I actually used to get the impression that it responded nearly on/off ... but I finally did what I think everyone should do - take a car, put it in neutral, put cockpit view on, then just sit there and play with the steering and throttle to see how they react. Both have "infinite" degrees of input, but both are laggy, which makes it feel like there's no subtlety when you're talking about intervals in tenths of a second as you tend to input more than needed just to get a response. Also, the throttle does this thing where it doesn't do anything if it's below the equivalent engine revs ... so you get occasions where you are putting light throttle but if the revs are still high, it feels like the throttle isn't doing anything until you add more or the revs drop (this adds more feeling of lag). Something to think about but it does mean if you're patient then using "necessary force" with the throttle does work correctly. It does make it more tricky to balance the car though when the amount of power you need is a little late getting there...
