Just wondering (I have broadband) how is the online play in NFS:U on the PS2? Is it smooth, lag free, or is it choppy and unbearable? (like most EA games online). Thanks :)

Well, I have been playin NFSU2 online for 2 days already, and if you and your fellow competitors have a good connection the game will be lag free, but it just takes one player with a bad connection to make things a bit laggy. Also different times throughout the day, has lots, or hardly any people online. I'm still surprised there aren't as much players online though, maybe things will get more crowded soon. Also, a fellow GTPer and friend of mine S13Drifting has gotten online, we both have the same headset, and everytime I enter a room with him, we cannot communicate which is kinda frustrating, also whenever he starts a game with me in it, it crashes, now this only happens when both of us is in the same room its very frustrating.......Anyone know why this is happening? We both have very good connections but, when both of us are trying to play the game online together, it keeps screwing up.

I really hate playing ea games online, like fifa, but really, I have no complains about NFSU, yeah it may lag sometimes, but it's not a huge fricking lag that big that you can't even change gears appropriately on drag, the lag affects the way you see other cars, you sometimes see them doing 360's and stuff and in reality they are just riding normally, it's kinda funny for the eye hehe, but the bad part is that on drag, a laggy racer gets totaled or blows his engine, man you better watch out if you're behind that car because there is a great chance you'll collide with him :)

I tried it last night and the whole process was a pain the in the ass. Took me forever just to get registered since every name I picked was somehow taken. Then I couldn't join a game. I kept getting kicked out right when I first entered. Then the actual racing wasn't too fun either. It was my stock 240 against a modified cars...

the PS2 version sucks, and there arnt very many people online, last night on X-BOX LIVE there were over 1,000 people 👍

I wouldn't recommend playing with stock cars online, because most of online users already have max tuned cars.

As for connection concerns, broadband is the key for success, the experience isn't that pleasable on a dial up modem.

Wow 1k people you said? man that's huge, why there aren't many ppl on ps2 then? :grumpy:
