I live just east of Houston Texas and we got really whacked by the storm Monday morning. It was officially a Cat 1 Hurricane with winds at 82 mph. (130 kph). We lost power on monday and finally got it back overnight last night. However current estimates state that almost 800,000 residents still do not have power.
My girlfriend and I are fine and our dogs are much happier now that the air conditioning is back on. Unfortunately we lost all our perishable food in the fridge so we're going to have to make a trip to the market today or tomorrow.
