yes, i went through the sonova-- well, you get the idea... last Saturday, i litterally went nuts because of the lack of air conditioning, lack of electricity(no Guitar Hero III or GT4 :nervous: ), and the fact that i had to sleep downstairs, AND that our security system kept freaking out because the battery was dying.

anyone else in TX want to share their misery??

i'll post pictures of stuff later. most of the damage is cleaned up, but there's some stuff laying around that will be tended to(by the city) "later". also, if you live in West U(where i live), Houston, TX, then you would know about "the new road-block" on Rutgers St.

I live about 5 minutes North of Downtown Houston and we didn't evac. We lost power at around 2AM on Saturday. Just got it back today, Wednesday at around 4PM. A tree (around 30 feet tall) fell between my house and the neighbor's, completely missing both. A lot of bridge underpasses were flooded. A notable one that I saw had a 14' 3" clearance, I say it was filled up with water to about 12 or 13 feet. Fallen trees everywhere. You could not drive down a single street without having the road blocked by downed trees. If it hadn't been for a cold front coming in from the North weakening Ike, things would have been much worse.

Here in Austin we didnt even get wind:mad:

Why would you want hurricane force winds in the first place?

sorry for it to take me so long to reply!

i was out of internet forever, and i JUST got it back. we had to replace the indoor security alarm siren(it got flooded, and the siren driver- a little circuit board that makes the siren make it's sound- dissolved and made this nasty green goo leak from out the back of it.), and get tarps on the roof. we should be getting a new roof soon.

i now have enough electricity to play GT4 and GH3, so yay.

It was because of Hurricane Ike and no power for 12 days as to why I missed GTPlanet. You GTPlanet people on here are like family to me. Sucks to be away from loved family for anything more than a week. Only real damage we suffered was our backyard fencing getting taken off. Here in Houston, we've had problems with the slow progress of Centerpoint Energy getting us power. My stepfather got a generator from this one customer at an RV repair shop he works at. We got ourselves six hours of power from this gas-powered Honda generator.

On a less-worse note, my MP3 player was a casualty. My Sansa Clip refused to work later that Saturday. Because of Hurricane Ike coverage on the airwaves, I needed my Saturday night electronic dance music fix... and it didn't work. Being out of electricity for anything more than two or three days is terrible. We got around to having our tree limb debris recently taken away by the heavy trash people.

I'm not here to do any marketing, but I have blogged about my experience without power. Check out my blog on 12 days without power here: < http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?f...n=0FBC83FA-51AB-483D-88CE00284DBED71A68241581 >.
