Hi,

For about a half a year or so, I can't play Gran Turismo? Why? Because my PS3 can't update all the updates, it keeps failing. It can update all the updates on Playstation, but when i get to GT6, I get a screen that says "Update Installing" and it says the updates will take about 360 minutes. The the numbers steadily get higher, all the way up to 660 before it failed. Since the updates won't load in GT, I can not play GT, and I am really annoyed because I have tried almost everything, such as reseting the game data, the playstation itself, and I even bought a new hard drive yesterday but even that didn't work. What do you think the problem is? What should I do at this point? Buying a new PS3 is not an option because I am currently saving for a PS4.

Please help me if you can. Thank you.

If you did all that it's probably a hardware issue, which you can't really fix.

So I would say:

I had the exact same problem on a brand new PS3 that I purchased a month ago. No matter what I did the updates failed in the game. I got better internet and the entire process went slick using the one-at-a-time process I learned on the forum. Half way through I thought to use an ethernet cable.

I don't know why when I had a download speed of around 2mbps the install in the game failed repeatedly. At 20mbps it went fine. Ck your download speed from the XMB screen. Might not be your hardware.

Good luck ;)

If you have the game on a disk, buy it again. If you've got it as a download, download it again. If the former, make sure the disk isn't scratched or anything.

Come on Guys, hit me up with some answers. I really would like to play again.

My mbps speed is 35.8, and it still fails.

If you have tried everything, people in this thread and your other thread have suggested, I'd say it's time for another PS3.
35.whatever Mbps is more than sufficient to download the updates.

I had the disc version to begin with and same thing happened to me, after weeks of trying to update I gave up and bought the download version and everything worked fine after that. I must add I did buy a 2nd disc version and it still failed hence buying the DL version.

I think you should get offline/cancel the update after a few updates, then start GT6 and install them (the smaller the updates the more you can do together). And repeat this till you've done all of them. I had the same problem and something like this worked for me.

Done that too, didn't work.

@The87Dodge, do you have the disk or download version of the game? If the former, buy it again, if the latter, download it again!

I have disc version. If I get the download version instead, will the problem be solved?

You might try rebuilding your database and restoring your file system first, here's a link. It did not work on my old console so I got a new one.

Tried it, did not work.

Get a Wii U. :}

Do you have problems downloading updates and other games? Or is it only GT?
If it's only GT I'd say it's your laser assembly. GT is known for killing them. It can be replaced for around $40(replaced it twice) if you're not afraid of taking it apart. I had both disk(still have them) and downloaded both PS3 GTs after I started having issues, I've not had issues since.
If this doesn't help I'm sorry.

I will try that, never thought of it. Do you think it'll work?
