Warning. LONG write-up (interesting though (: )
Hey everyone!
I haven't been playing GT5 (and for that reason hadn't visited the forum) for quite some time now. This is because when I stopped, I started studying for exams. Then, right when my holiday started, I went to Japan. In fact I'm still there.
So why am I suddenly back on?
1) I miss you guys <3
2) I just had the time of my life.
Before you move this thread to another section, read on:
As you might have deduced, I love cars. Yeah, really. I go to the Geneva Auto Show every year, and try to get into as many booths as possible every year. This proved a challenge when I was younger. Now that I look a few years older than I actually am, this proves easier. For example, this year, I developed a close friendship to the sales manager of Lamborghini Geneva. Consequently, I got to sit in the Aventador, 560 Bicolore, 570 Performante. For this reason, I visited the auto show twice. The second time, I had the opportunity to enter the Bugatti, Pagani, and Koenigsegg booths as well!
Back on topic, yesterday I decided to visit the Lamborghini Dealership in the heart of Tokyo. However, it was closed. So I decided to just go to Ginza (google it, it'll impress you
), and have some fun there. However, when I was coming home, I spotted a Mercedes cafe, and they had a mini dealership, and an SLS. So I think to myself, "worth a try?". So I sweet talk the lady into letting me sit in the SLS. That's cool, but I wanted to experience the raw beast that the SLS is. Now unfortunately I can't [legally] drive yet (Europe.. pfff) so that was a no-go. However, she did let me turn on the engine and rev it. A lucky man, I consider myself (: (not meant to be yoda-ish). However, in my excitement, I forgot to let the engine oil temp. heat up (YOU COLD REVVED THE ENGINE!? *gasp*), so the car limits itself to 4k rpm (you cunning Germans 
). Still, the sound of that V8 is.. breathtaking.
So come today, and I decide to return (2 hour round trip, but definitely worth it). Lucky me, the Lamborghini dealership is open (you might have established that I love Lamborghinis by now).
-Now at this point, I'm nervous. Too many people have stories on the internet about being either kicked out of a Lamborghini dealer as soon as they step in, or just being allowed to take photographs). Mustering up the required courage, I step in. Now, the salesman greets me, and I ask for the sales manager (I did my research, and I knew his name). I start by showing off a little (not for the sake of showing off, but for having a better chance in the dealer), stating that I knew people from Lamborghini Geneva, etc... So we talk for an hour, and I know a lot about cars, especially Lambo and Ferrari (although my aston, audi, maserati etc.. knowledge is better than your average man's). Then I just kind of blurt out "uhh, so may I sit in them?" . And he answers, "sure!" Score. [side note: I used Japanglish, as they weren't the finest english speakers, and I'm not the finest Japanese speaker). A few minutes after sitting in one (LP570), I ask if I can start it up. He says "I'm afraid not, we aren't allowed to indoors. But if you follow me, I can take you to the test car, and you can start that up!" My jaw drops. So I start the engine, and my GOD does it sound amazing. Unfortunately, I couldn't rev it, as the car was located next to an apartment, and Lamborghini Azabu had received many complaints (no wonder...).
So about half an hour later (there were more Lamborghinis (tricolore, bicolore, Murci LP640)), I leave, and the sales manager tells me "You know quite a lot about cars!" And gives me his business card. So much for the stories you hear on the internet..
Now I'm feeling quite happy, so I decide to visit another dealership. This was a used car dealer, and same story. They let me in every car they had (Audi R8 V10, Aston Martine V12 Vantage, Ferrari F430 Scuderia 16M, Lamborghini 550-2 Balboni (e-Gear), and the Lamborghini LP670 SV. However, all of their cars were indoors, so no start ups. I spent around half an hour oggling the cars. It might have helped that I identified a Maserati Granturismo's rim by glancing at a partially covered rim.
So now I'm considering myself.. pretty lucky. You might not think the same thing, but still .
Lastly (but not least), I visited the Ferrari dealership. This is the one I really wanted to visit (on par with Lamborghini), but the one I was dreading the most, as they apparently aren't the nicest kids on the block (internet stories again). So I enter, get greeted, and it's a woman who's attending to me. I sweet talk her into letting me sit in a 458, but I couldn't even turn on the ignition (I was keen on trying out the VDA etc..). So I think, she can't know everything about the 458, so I use my superior knowledge to get her confused, and she ended up calling the sales manager. He knows his Ferraris a little better, so I was more or less on the same wavelength as he was. After "talking Ferrari", I asked him the same question (ignition). He goes, "sure!" I smirk to myself because the lady says "we don't usually allow this.." So after around 20 minutes where I test the Ferrari's systems, I ask him casually "You know that California you have parked outside? Can I start it up?", and he replies with a "Absolutely!". I smirk even more as the lady looks really angry now. So I start it up, roof down and all. And it sounds like a Ferrari should. Phenomenal. This time, I let the engine warm up, and I ask him if I can rev it. He gives me permission, and all hell breaks loose *mwuahaha.
So, third time lucky? I ask him for a test drive (usually only given to potential customers). As aforementioned, I can't drive
, but he offered to give me a ride!! I'd never been driven in a Ferrari before, but my GOD the experience was unforgettable. He took me through some tunnels, and there is no better car to be in a tunnel than a convertible Ferrari (well, maybe a convertible Lamborghini ).
And that is all. I consider myself to be very lucky, as yesterday was the first time I turned on the engine of a supercar, and I got to do it 2 more times today (: . Today was also the first time i've riden a supercar (definitely not the last).

PS: I have got photos and videos, it just depends whether you want to see them or not.
PPS (or PSS?): The 458 convertible will only way 30 more kg than the 458, and will be a hardtop. Now that's very impressive. Check the official Ferrari website on the 23rd of August.
