I don't seem to be acquiring paint chips?

As the subject says, It seems like I'm not getting new paint chips when I get a new car? I have try to select unique colors when I get a new car, but when I check go to the paint shop, I don't have them. currently I have 34 paint chips and 54 cars. I haven't seen anyone else say anything about this, so I was wondering if it's just me? Am I doing something wrong?

Not all cars or paint schemes give you paint chips. For example, you won't get chips from Mclaren cars, RUFs, or cars with racing stripes on them (Viper etc)

Colors with stripes or "..." by the name are not given as chips.

McLaren F1 certainly gives paint chips. The mp4-12c does not.

Cars with special paint jobs or some cars for no particular reason, don't give you chips. A good way on knowing if you get a chip is when you buy the car. before the "Drive now" thing appears, you can see the name of the chip acquired.

That's funny as every non race/rally car prize car I can remember getting offered me a choice of colours.

The games tells you what colour paint you receive when you get a car.

The SRT Viper GTS (not the launch edition) and the Dodge Viper SRT/10 give you chips.

It depends what paint scheme you choose for the car; I chose the Adrenaline Red with racing stripes; that doesn't give you a chip; if you choose the solid colour without stripes, then you do get the chip

i just realized you can use the paint chips unlimited time unlike gt5.. i was trying to save them for later lol..

Yes, you are. All of those I've used yet, were still there afterwards. One of the best details in GT6.
