I expect more up-dated cars in GT

Hi,
I bought the GT Special Edition, and after I played for three days I can tell that is an amazing quality game... impressive how PD could bring so good graphics from a PSP but I would expected more up-dated cars on the game.

Like someone wrote, it seams that you are playing GT4... we have lots of cars from the earlier’s 2000 and is missing the nice actual cars... if you take some brands for example:

BMW: 320i Touring Car from 2003 – old model
330i 2005 – old model
M3 2004 – old model
Z4 2003 – old model

All these four example already are superseded by new models… this is only an example because almost “all” the Brands in GT are in the same status… the “current” models are completely obsolete, of course we have very good old cars that deserve to stay in GT but we have lot’s of good new cars that must be in GT, and of course we could select some of the old ones to change them by the new models.

Such an amazing game deserves more actual cars in it… maybe later in the PlayStation Store… or not…

Who knows... The car companies might just choose not to feature certain models.

Personally I want some more classic BMWs. Im thinking M1, its a BMW and a Ferarri.

From memory, KY's point of GT was to create a museum of cars. GT PSP probably should have included more new cars. I think so far it has done a great job of catalogging everything from pre 2005. I think though, GT5 may go in the direction now of only featuring the most significant cars from after 2005. Namely your supercars.

PD I think may be struggling a bit in that there are so many cars that PD would love to add but how do you choose?

I do hope come GT5 that at least some of the more common cars are updated. Some of the current Mercedes would be great to add for example (mmmm... C63 (which we have seen anyway)). But I more so hope that instead of extending manufacturers current libraries that PD instead try to create a new museum of makers new to the franchise and the most significant of newer cars.

End of the day, how many times are you really going to drive a 318i even if it was updated to the later models. I personally will be sticking to something a bit more aspirational.

look at the car list, there are no 06-09 road cars other then the GTR Spec V and ZR1

PD has strong ties with Nissan aswell as other Japanese makers and the cars were probably situated in Japan so its easier to get them into the game.

Life is unfair, get use to it!

Anyone else see the irony here? ;)

But we do agree with ya.

thanks mr.obvious!

its more like they didn't even bother modeling updated cars for this game other then a handful of new cars. they probably just polished the tech demo which was a port of GT4 for the PSP and released it in a rush cuz sony needed something for the PSP Go and promote the PSN store for it.

^^^ I dont think the rushed anything, they announced GTPSP several years ago and it was supposed to be GT4 portable. Maybe the PSP dev team were required to work with old models instead of wasting time photoing and rendering new ones.

Im still happy with GTPSPs selection, well be rewarded with new cars in GT5 I hope.

it is GT4 portable.... they could've released it in 05, but the PSP wasn't selling well until the past 2 yrs. they probably just kept it around until now sony say they need to release it.

there is a reason why GT was never a launch title. same with march 2010 release for GT5 makes perfect sense as a business decision.

M3 CSL only comes in Black or Silver. :yuck:
I wanted Estoril Blue :ouch:

I thought the CSL was only ever available in real life in those 2 colours?

The normal M3 though was available in colours like Estoril Blue.

You mean, the ones that are in the game now are not ACTUAL cars?!

As for new updates, forget it. What you buy is what you get - there will be no DLC for this game.

The game is not GT4 anything. The physics, sounds, game plaly are are based off of GT5P, not GT4. Only thing that smells like gt 4 is the car and track list.

Also the PSP has been selling well since it came out, it was the games that were not selling well. 50million+ systems sold.

the looks are based off gt5p. the car list is primarily gt4 era. probably something to do with pd not having to model 800+ cars over again ,just port over the majority of gt4 cars from ps2 then model only certain new cars. this game was called gt4 mobile for a reason in the beginning i think

since you can supposedly export your garage over to gt5 does this mean gt5 will have all out dated cars as well seeing how gtpsp has 800+ cars and gt5 has 950 cars that sounds like gt5 will only have a handful of new models

You must have big hands to fit 120 cars in your hands.

It's pretty clear that a lot of cars are missing that we already know will be in GT5. Bunch of Ferrari's, Lamborghini's and I have seen at least 2 new Mercedes in images. Then you have NASCAR, WRC and the likelyhood of more F1 cars than just the F2007.

It may even be possible that not every single car in GTPSP will be exportable. It may only be the tradeable models for example. Or that certain cars in GTPSP when exported actually unlock updated versions of that model. This is just speculation though but end of the day you can be assured that we will get at least the most significant new cars from after 2005.

Actually, it's half Lamborghini! :sly: Look it up, pretty cool history behind it.
As for the cars, that was my only dissapointment for this game. All the cars from GT4 were just carried over, with no improvements or new models. AND THERES STILL THAT ANNOYING :censored:ING DAIHATSU MIDGET! I wanna race PD, not ride the snails.

The AC got downgraded from GT4.
The driver doesn't move or change gear. and they gave it a soft top.
The SL65 is nice car but they put the top up for racing.
I hope GT5 gets an option to keep it down.

I think the car he's talking about is the BMW M3 CS.
