Ok, When I first started to play GT3 I didn't know how to drift or anything about it. So I got the Trueno S.s. or whatever and sold it for some cash. Now I started it over adn bam no Trueno instead I gots a s13. Not as bad but no trueno. I's needed to get that off my chest.

I hate to burst everyone's bubble but the Trueno is nothing great. The reason for it's original populatrity in Japan was because it's cheap, lightweight, comes with a factory LSD, and has 50/50 weight distribution. These are all great features but it's underpowered. I pesonally prefer the S13 and RPS13 over the Trueno.

If the Trueno is a god then shouldn't the Maita be one too? I mean, it has 50/50 wd too so it would only be fair to call it a god too right? I didn't think so.

I really like the Trueno, but I hardly ever use it. My favorite drift car right now is probably either the Tom's Chaser or the RPS13 Type X.

my car was made in '85...50/50 weight, RWD, LSD, 2340lbs, but only 105 hp...so my car is about like having an AE86. i gotta get some more hp outta this rotary FAST :)

i think Initial D also has to do with some of the popularity of the AE86. and also Mr. Kiiechi Tsuchiya

i mean, just the other day i saw an ad in Autotrader for a 1985 Corolla GTS, the guy called it "the Initial D car" and was trying to get $7,000 for it. WTF?!?

There are lots of cars that are balanced as good as the AE86. The 86 is just a little more popular among the drifters because Initial D was basically worshipped in Japan by a whole generation, like Fast & Furious here kinda. It represents everything the mountain drifters wish was true. Most of it was true but some was exaggerated. Personally I love the 86, I think it's one of the best in the game for sure. The 86 reflects skill very well (a driver's skill is very apparent when drifting an 86). I think that's why it's considered such a bold move in Japan. Any car is fun to drive though, they all have their own character. GT3 pulled that off really well in my opinion.

If it's in good condition he'll get $7000 for it too. Even if it's stock.

Initial D did have somee influence on the 86's popularity like you said. I think it's pathetic how people try to cash in on the success of Initial D and F&F buy overcharging for cars. I would have liked to buy an 86 but now they're even harder to find cause all the ricers are buying them up or overcharging for them. Same thiing happened to the 240sx. They're just about impossible to find now for a good price. Good thing my friend is gonna sell his to me for $500:D

You hear about teh time he raced against an R32 GT-R in his personal drift AE86??? He was drifting and the GT-R was gripping and he won. Keiichi is god, not the car...

:odd:

personally, i would never spend over $3,000 for a Corolla GTS, i wouldnt even bother with the SR5; and this is if its in good condition.

Yeah, but I think he was talking about the trueno SS. And hp for hp it is the fastest car in the game.

The regular Trueno would still be great in real life if it was still cheap but now it's over priced almost everywhere.

Did you get to see it? I have heard of it also and I was told that he barely drifts at all. There was more that 1 race and I know he won and lost some. And I think he was racing a stock R34 GT-R not the R32. I wish i could see that race just to know exactly what happend.

I saw another race where 2 AE86's race Shigeno in a R34, and none of them drift. Of course the 2 pro drivers in the AE86's demolish the Shigeno in the GT-R. Shigeno is a good driver just not a Pro.

The soft focus camcorder in the beginning must be pretty expensive...

The 86 was being chased down to the core by the MR-S... poor EG6 too lol
