sorrry about that, PS3, G25.

anyone worried about the game being floaty can rest assured, it's just the illusion created by the helmet cam and visual steering wheel having notable lag.

the game isn't understeery as well, I've had a few power oversteer moment with my 185hp mx5 already, also locked my rear brakes and spun 360 after landing a jump, it's deep enough to be enjoyed.

it's also great that the steering lock is under tuning for every single car, and is part of the setup, just set it once to your liking then there you go. It goes as much as 50 degrees, I think you will need that much in drift events.

I wish someone could make an HD vid of PS3 version and upload it to YT. Not a trailer, actual gameplay. Doesn't have to be screen capture, even flip 720p uploaded to YT with low compression would do.

So.. I have a G25 and PS3 with racing cockpit.. Should I go get this game right now?

Check out inside sim racing, they have one up on their front page.

can't see why not! The AI is miles better than GT5s, that alone is worth a buy. :)

they do put up a decent fight, actively defend their position and know when to avoid collision. speed-wise they are decent as well, I do have to focus to win some races, I'll say about Forza's level of speed.

Well, I've been playing it for about 6 hours straight now...I'm level 16 (I think the levels only go up to 20?) and have put in quite some time in different races. I'm not using a wheel as my pedals broke and my brake is stuck partially on. This game gives you a really good feeling of speed, going 225mph on the Nurburgring really feels scary. The cars seem to me to be a bit more loose than they should. I understand that at high speeds even the minor adjustment makes a huge difference, but at 50mph? It shouldn't do what it does. The game isn't the easiest on hard difficulty for whomever asked that. In the class specific (for example C class) you can have a car tuned to 999 PI and still struggle in the field. I had a Shleby GT500 tuned to 999 PI and was struggling, an Audi R8 V10 tuned to 995 PI and I was dominating the field. Some cars can be a handful to deal with. Outside of the class specific ones, it's even. So you have take a 200 PI 240sx and make it a 1500 PI Works Edition, the field turns their cars into the same..so you never have a performance buff like in gt5. The game looks great and sounds amazing. A dream for me would be Shift 2 audio on Gt5 physics.

Drifting, at least for me, is stupid hard.

The time attack modes are really easy.

Also, keep in mind, me saying that it does get difficult on the hard setting with the "elite" setup for assists (pretty much everything off. I just left on ABS) isn't because I'm terrible. I do hold the world record at a few different tracks in game right now.

Any other questions, let me know.

What do you think about gfx? I have a 52" Aquos... think it will look ok on that from what you see??

I'm playing on a 46" 1080p Samsung and it looks brilliant. The tracks are amazing and the cars have a lot of great details.

Does it feel similar to the original?

It feels improved in every aspect. They really worked on the cars performance and handling. It is noticeably different from the first one, it feels less "arcadey" but it still isn't sim-quality.

Stupid question here, but do the cars come stock? The grage on the website shows them all with race-modified parts on every car. Do they come stock?

Maybe a saw different vid? I'll check.......

I saw that one first.. (above) it didn't say PS3- but it could be?

The other one I saw, but didn't see on YT where it was on a PS3.. not in the title anyway. He says it though in the vid i see. Not too damn bad! --

I thought that was X-Box or PC at first, nice for PS3 I would say.

Should be good. I didn't mind the physics in the first one so I should be fine.
Good to see they have night racing now. As usual, us Brits always get new releases after everyone else on the planet.

They all come stock but can be highly modified. There are a few exceptions (prize cars) that are given to you modded and cannot be changed. Another point of interest is that if you do mod a car, it warns you if that mod is going to put it in a different class. If you do mod a car to the ritz (up to the Works package but not getting that) everything can be uninstalled and sold. So let's say you have 200k worth of mods dumped into an Rx7 and you find out you dont like the way it drives and it really is a POS, you can sell all of the mods, get your 200k back. If you do the Works conversion, that cannot be uninstalled or sold.

The Fanatec GT3rs works only on PS3 & PC. We know it's not the other console.

Yeah, I figured it was PC whe I first saw it -actually I thought GFX looked too good for PS3.. but it is still difficult to tell from vid if antialiasing is non-existent or how low quality the textures really are or how bad it tears and stuff like that.

I'm not impressed with lag in steering wheel on-screen and what looks like totally different wheel movements compared to actual wheel. Just looks wrong. Hopefully there's an explanation for that..

Theirs little chance the "Console" versions will have anywhere near that amount of wheel setup options, the ISR video showed so had to be PC version.
Still curious if the T500 will be catered for or not, guess we will know soon enough.

Looks to be a good game though...

Track aliasing is horrid on the 360 version from the little bit I played (think Forza 2). Considering in most of my experiences aliasing on the PS3 is normally worse than the 360 with multiplatform games, I doubt its any better.
Textures are good (for a console game) and I did not notice tearing, seems like v-sync is enabled.

Thankfully the PC copy will be on my doorstep when I get home today.

Not sure why you come to that conclusion. They clearly state in the video that they are using PS3 and the video tags also clearly state PS3.

I for one am impressed with the graphics. I'll just have to wait and see about the physics. I'm not sure about that steering deadzone setting they suggest but I'll start with the ISR settings for sure and tweak from there. Fortunately I also have a GT3rs V2. Props to ISR for getting these settings out so soon!

Er, the console versions of Shift 1 had wheel setup options very similar to those shown. I fully expect the console versions of Shift 2 to have those options.

Sorry only seen the video on a mobile and with not hearing it. That would be great if their are lots of options, so fingers crossed with T500
