I got new tires today.

I had been waiting until I could afford some nice Goodyear all terrain tires. But today the tires decided for me (only one really) when I'd be replacing them. I guess 67000 miles is pretty good. So I went to Walmart on the recommendation of a friend. I got Uniroyals on sale and replaced all four tires with balancing, stems, and a great warranty for $197.00. I love a good deal.

Jesus endorses Uniroyal, and appreciates a good deal, too. See?

I got some new tires for my truck a couple of days ago... I had 33x12.5 on it, but down sized to 31x11.5 and it's riding much better. I was also going to have them do a complete brake job on it. They replaced the front rotors as well as new bearings and such on the front. When they got to the back, they discovered that my rear-end is about ready to go out. I was already dumping waaaaaay too much into it, so I told them to stop. So now I just gotta baby it until I can find a used rear end.

So yeah, good to hear you got some new tires. We have a tireshop where I work in one of our divisions so I get tires at cost which is a pretty good deal, but I still have to pay standard labor costs.

I've needed the front driver's side bearing replaced for a while now. Passengers are always like "what's wrong with your car?" It sorta hums at certain speeds. I hate being on the highway at a particularly resonant speed. It's like sitting inside a subwoofer. But at most other speeds it doesn't make a sound. And that makes it easy to procrastinate. :P

Sitting inside a subwoofer would be awesome. As long as my ears didn't start to bleed :P

Bleh! When we buy tires, we just buy the tires, go up to my dad's dealership, take off the old tires, clean the wheels, put on the new tires/stems, balance them, and mount them all by ourselfs. So we only pay for the tires. The machines are easy to use anyhoo.

And we really only deal with Bridgestone(minus my bro, who has Nittos on his Probe GT, and some other sport tires on his MX-6)...we have Bridgestone Potenzas on the RX-7 and my dad's Probe, and Terranzas on the 323(soon will get a new set) and MPV.

On my bro's '87 626, there were these crappy Hercules tires which were hilarious...they were way big(the sidewalls were like 3" tall or more), the rubber was horrible, and you could skid on them forever. They also made this high pitch squeel when pushed hard.

Tires are great.

I need new tires for my Ultra LX. Paco knows what I mean. For 4 Pro-line Knuckles it will be about $30. Wow, that's alot cheaper than yall's. Oh, BTW, Paco. Pics will be sometime soon, just need to get them developed. I also talked my mom into a digi-cam, which we'll get at wal-mart when my pics get developed.

On the huge backflip over the road, I think one of the tires ripped. They are gettin bad so I'll get more.

Well, I kind of decided that since a new rear end would run be $1500 for a truck that I only paid $2250, that it was a little much and decided to stop doing burnouts and to just take it easy. I guess the teeth are waring sharp and a sheer bolt actually busted off inside the differential. So, unless I can find a low mile used one, I just have to listen to the *hummm* to tell me when it's about ready to explode. :D

MuddinPede,
Lookin forward to the pics... :D

I took my car to Lexus yesterday(got an '03 ES300 for a loaner:yuck:) at 7:00am to get the tires rotated, and balanced, and for them to install some stuff, but they told me I needed new tires so they wouldn't balance/rotate the old ones. They asked if I wanted new tires through them, and I was like hell no, I'll save $6-700 and go somewhere else. I ordered a set of Pirelli P6000 Sport Veloce's through someone else, and it's going to cost $532 after they install them(Tuesday), allign, and balance them.:irked: This place only had the Pirelli's for my car, and a set of Cooper Cobras.:scared: It was about $100 less for the Coopers, but since I'm not a redneck with a pickup truck I opted for the Pirelli's.

Cool story. I know.

No kidding! I was praying for another RX300, or even an IS300, hell... anything but an ES300!:scared: After I signed the papers for the loaner I followed the guy outside, and when we started walking towards it I mumbled the f-word quite loudly, but fortnuately he didn't hear me. It's a big, ugly, $35,000 piece of ****. You're right about the interior. It was nice, and the seats were damn comfortable, but I couldn't get over the ugly looks like the headlights which go half-way up the hood.

I wanted to trade my GS300 in for a RX300 after I got one for a loaner. After the ES300 I just wanted to stab myself in the leg, or something.

(Doug, if you ever read this - yes, the RX had VSC. All of the RX300 loaners there do.)

Boy, you poor thing. :P And that hood... you can never tell where the heck the front is!

Coopers are for hillbillies. Pirellis are cooler. Tire snobery. Cool.

That isn't really the only reason. My Dad has Pirelli P7000 SuperSports on his car, and I love how they grip/handle. The salesman also said the Coopers were louder, and had a harder ride quality. I've never even seen Cooper Cobras on a car besides old IROC-Z Camaros, or old ass trucks, so I'm not about to put them on a luxury car. Sure, I could have went to Wal-Mart, and bought some damn Douglas Performance tires for like $40 a piece, but I prefer tires that last, and don't get huge knots in them while driving hard, and speeds in excess of 130mph.

I would say so. A friend of mine had some type of Uniroyals on his Sanoma, and they lasted 2 years of stupid driving until he rear-ended an Expedition going 92mph.

What kind of Jeep do you have?

Grand Cherokee.

I don't even know what brand were on before. I could never find a name. They must've been okay to last 67000, though.

Meh, I'm a TOYO man. My aunt has TOYOs on her GS400 and they ride like a dream.

I have some Toyo Proxes on my car right now. Good tire, but I can't get it through this current tire place I'm going through. I could get them at Lexus, but I'm not paying them $1000 for a set of tires, and installation.
