Beautiful. Powerful. Sleek. Responsive. Terrifying.
I have a friend that works at the lotus/aston martin/volvo dealership, and they had one of their vanquishes returned, and i got the chance to go test drive it. It was unlike anything i had ever...and probably will ever, drive. I also drove a DB7. Much more tame, and if i had to choose between the 2, i would probably get the DB7. But...yeah. It was fun. I'll have some pictures of the car tomorrow.

Why was it returned? How was the semi-manual transmission? Did it feel anything like a Ford inside or totally hand-made?

Asking because I probably won't be inside one...ever.

I was told that it scared the guy to death. The semi manual was fine. You could set it to have a faster shift, or smooth shift, or u could just set it into automatic mode (which is what i did most of the time since i had to focus on not killing myself). It felt handmade. It felt, and looked, like a million dollars.

One word: WOW! What an experience! You are very lucky, Shob!

It truly was unreal. And the dealership is in the most unlikely of places. It's near downtown in a very run-down neighborhood. There is a mercedes division, then a volvo division, then there is a small sign that says 'Lotus Aston Martin 5 Star motors'. Behind a wall of volvos and mercedes cars is this little garage which houses a few DB7s, a few Espirits, and the Vanquish. Very unassumaing, and.....amazing.

Wow... I got to sit in a Lamborghini at the L.A. Auto Show, but that's the closest I've been to an exotic car (of course, there's the fact that I can't legally drive yet :D)... did you, um, "test the limits", or would your insurance company not allow that? ;)

Hah. I didnt test it's limits. It tested mine. 'Ok, we've hit 130, time for restraint and fear to kick and and allow me to put my foot on the break.' The thing cost as much as the house i live in. And it was a little more agile...and a lot easier to break/completely destroy. So, on open roads, i was more than cautious...i was friggin paranoid...considering im only 17 and all...and the fastest car i had driven at that point was my dads g35. Yeah.......

WOW!!!! man thats rocks I test drove a viper GT-S onse and that was the greatest thrill of my life I couldent even imagine driving that monster, must have been gerat. Anyway tho I still hate you................
just kidding I hope you get to do it again sometime

Ahhh the feeling of driving such a car, this is why I really really miss being a valet!

I never got to drive a vanquish, but I have driven a DB7, and some other exotics! Their is no feeling that can match that feeling of having control of hundred thousand dollar cars!

If if anyone of you young guys get a chance, be a valet! You would be surprised what you get to drive! It doesn't happen everyday, it doesn't happen every week, but that one day... A F-50 will role up in front of you, and that rush makes it all worth it!

Congrats on the vanquish man! I just wanted to let you know, I understand the feeling! :D
