Yes finally, from the first moment i started playing this game i noticed that this is alot more realistic then GT3, my first car in this game is a AE86 was that a good choice? Also where can i buy a good cockpit?

Welcome to the world of the most authentic Gran Turismo to this day!

I wouldn't have picked that car as my first one but that doesn't mean that it's a bad choice - it just isn't as versatile as some others. You can easily beat many races with it though (after modifying it more or less) so you'll be fine.

About the good cockpits, you can always buy a purpose-manufactured Playseat (the Logitech web site has links in the steering wheels section) or build your own one. Follow this link to get to the Steering Wheels & Racing Cockpits area of the forums. Lots of discussion and help can be found there. :)

You can still use your gt force, if you have one that is, GT4 is my first GT in the series, and, I started off with the Mistubishi Lancer GSR '92. Do you have any credits in GT3, how about licenses? If so, import them, it will make the game that much easier, and just as a little tip, When you raise the money buy the HPA motorsports R32 golf, found in the Tuner Village, so have fun!

I already did.:sly: I used the money to buy a Fairlady Z. And thanks for the tip, i'll look that car up.

Welcome and have a nice stay here. When I bought GT4, my first car was the Mazda Demio :sly:I transferred some credits from GT3 to buy it:dopey: I love the handling of the car:)

I wouldn't pick the AE86, simply because there are many cars that have better handling or more power. Me, I took the '85 RX-7, since it costed me 6500Cr...
But I reckon that since the AE86 is fairly lightweight, doesn't lack too much power, is cheap, and can beat the sunday-cup, it's not a car that'll leave you stranded without money and a decent car. Me, I accidentally bought the Fiat 500 (mixed up the buttons), so I had to restart with the RX-7.

Thought so... Anyways: After all, it's upto the individual preferences that dictate which car to choose. If you like the car - then you made a good choice. Money can always be won (in-game only!)...

Don't buy a good cockpit.
Make a good cockpit. Most cockpits can be made cheaply by taking a small table or something, attaching a wheel to it, and putting it next to the couch.

when you have enough money by a audi a4 touring car for 500,000 tune it a bit then enter deusche touring car meisterschaft in the european hall you shuld win all the races the you get a car which you can sell for over 700,000

Cool, i bought my GT4 onky a while ago too. Right now, I'm working on golding the B license before I move on to the A (12 Gold, 3 Silver, 1 bronze), those 1 lap guide runs are killing me!. When I bronzed it I sold the prize and got myself a black '95 eg6. Where are you right now? Also, this is my first foray into the world of GT.

An easier way is to win this, and maybe more challenging and fun is to enter the Schwartzwald Liga B championnship in a car such as a Mercedes E55 AMG, more cars can be found in theStock/Race Car Comparisons thread, it includes many cars to get 200 A Spec Points in every race.
The thread was put together by hispeed and Smallhorses, they did a great job with it.

Of course, I'm not saying the way gt488cv is a bad way, but the way I reccomended above will save you lots of money, since you will only have to buy the car for Schwartzwald Liga B, and even then, you may of won a car which is eligable there.

Winning the Schwartzwald Liga B will win you the Mercedes EVO II Touring Car, which can win the Deusche Touring Car Meisterschaft in the hands of most drivers, but if your still having trouble, go to the Mercedes event - Legends Of The Silver Arrow, the Mercedes EVO II Touring Car will win this quite easily, after this event is completed, you win the Mercedes CLK Touring Car which can win easily using A Spec.

As for starting cars, the Toyota AE86 isn't the best starting car, there are some good bargins in my Car Comparisons Thread, the Mazda RX-7 GT Limited is a good choice for under 10,000, of course, the further into the game you get, and the more money you earn, the more cars you will be able to buy.

Hope I helped :).

Oh yeah i forgot to ask this, what are A-spec points for?
When you reach 5000 A-spec points, you get access to a paintshop.

Also is the 240Z in this game?
Yes, but only if you complete the Nurburgring 24 hours in a Daihatsu Midget II.

And if you don't beileve me, you can always search, or look up the car lists in the game guides section.

Welcome to the world of Gran Turismo Black Bird, hope you like your stay!
Anyway, the advice I wanted to give you is that you shoudn't buy your first car, you should earn it. you can save alot of money with my strategy: get your racing licenses in all silver (if you can manage to do it) and use the cars that will be given to you. The acura DNX is a great first car, and I highly recommend it as a first car. 👍

As Duke said, A-spec points are for bragging-rights alone. They are measured by the power-to-weight ratio of the opposition and your car, as well as power, front tyre-compound and some others...

And the 240Z can be bought in the Nissan dealer, or, I think, in the used car lot... Search.

Oh daan, don’t be cruel. :P

Both. You can't pause in A-Spec, and you can't use the time accelerator in B-Spec.

DE

Now wait. But then he could simply turn it to B-spec and go away... Without the time-accelleration. No, you have to guide B-spec carefully - tell him at what speed (1-5) to approach a corner, and if you spin - you get an extra hour penalty of driving.

But, it does mean it'll use up at least forty-eight hours of electricity

I think guiding every corner is a little over the top, but that is indeed the way PD have done it... I think this would be a much less harsh method:
You have to press OK at every pitstop, or he will just sit in the pitlane having staring contests with his crew.

After 5 seconds of having a 'staring contest', the pit crew automaticly start work, they fit new tires, refuel and keep it in A/B Spec mode depending on hwat you were using before the pit stop.

Heres a good start walkthrough:

Buy the Honda Civic (9.990 Cr.), drive the Sunday Cup and put an chip and oil in it.
Then drive the FF-Cup.
After that you make the B-Licence and sell that Lupo.
Now take the Civic and drive the Honda Civic Cup (You will win the Civic Race car which you can sell for 90.000 Cr)
Put chip and oil in the Autobianchi you´ve won and drive the Lightweight Cup. (Sell the price)

Now you should buy the Lotus Elise 111 (the 3rd one).

With that little beast you can drive the MR Cup, Spider & Roadster Cup, Brittish Lightweight and the Lotus Classics.

I hope this helps you.

Nice thing, but this is no FAQ - FAQ stands for "Frequently Asked Questions". This is a walkthrough.

And, why not do the licences upto IA, and win some stuff with the Nismo? Even better, isn't it?

Youre right. I tiped to fast and made a mistake.

The Nismo is not that better, but I play GT4 on this way, so I dont have to make all licence at once.

I did do it too, I only did B, then, after finishing some B races, A, then, when I went to Pro Hall, I did IB. IA was only done after Extreme Hall was unlocked, and S was done prior to my first S race (Like the Wind for 200points).

But I just can't get it, why do people love taking the Civic route so much? Everywhere I look, buy a used civic, go to Sunday Cup, FF, Civic race. I don't particularily like this car...

Well, its a beginner-friendly car with enough power for the first races and good handling for a stock car.

Yeah, but so are MR and FR cars for the same price, and they have more power sometimes. The Mazda RX-7, and some others, are both cheaper, more powerful, and have the RWD advantage...

Heres a good starting walkthrough.

Complete all the licenses (you don't have to do Special License but it will help for later in the game).

Complete all or as many Driving Missions as you can, complete some of the easy 1 Lap Magic (Toyota Celicas and Nissan Z's are easiest) for extra money.

Depending on what Missions you complete you will have diffrent cars (DMC DeLorean, Jay Leno Tank Car, Pagani Zonda LM, Toyota 7 and Nissan R89C), use these and complete all or most of the races you can, or, use your money to buy some cars.

And another way which goes down the 'buy a first car' route.

Buy a Mazda RX-7 GT Limited from the Used 80's/Historic used car lot, it's there most weeks and costs under 6,000 with an oil change.

Give it an oil change and win the Sunday Cup, sell the prize car (Autobianchi A112 Abarth), you chould now have around 15,000.

Win the Sunday Cup as many times as you want (doing it once would be ok, but you can get more money), and buy the best Turbo you can, you can now win various races such as the Mazda Event, 'Club RE'.
