I keep getting fooled by Minis.

So I'm driving at night now (DST) and a car comes up behind me in the left lane kinda fast. I switch to the right lane thinking, cool I wonder if it's a 911 or new BMW, nope, just a Mini. Happened twice tonight. Never happened before.

Same with women in nightclubs

There have been times at night when I've seen headlights or taillights which look similar to a sports car and end up being a hatchback.

I also remember being overtaken once. Thought it was a Lamborghini or something really powerful.

Turns out to be an old civic.

I've been overtaken by a Mini too. It happened on a race track. I was driving a Mini and some guy in his Mini got better speed on the straight and was on inside line before we turned in to corner. Then on the next corner I overtook him. Turned out that I was racing in Mini-1000 Cup which is one make series for Minis.

I'm referring to the headlight arrangement. At night it appears to be a much more slanted nose, not the boxy Mini.

It's a general automotive forum. The point is, cars can look way sportier at night based on how they arrange the headlights versus what they look like during the daytime. Especially as seen from the rearview mirror.

And some people can tell cars just from the sound of a door closing, but it isn't particularly notable.

What happened was that you made a thread that, to my eyes, has no point. I still don't understand why this is a thread. It's an observation you've made, one most of us have at some point, but the fact is that there's really nothing to discuss, nothing unique, and nothing terribly interesting to read.

I used to like gtplanet forums because they were among the most polite/civilized ones. There is still not a lot of cursing, but lately a lot of bile and spittle is flying around. So relax and grab a Snickers or something...

What never happened before? You being overtaken or seeing 2 Mini's?

You'll hate the new car. The headlights are slanted further back. Cover the grille and you can imagine you're looking a Micro-Macan.

I used to like GTPlanet because people expected threads with actual content.

BMWs have twin headlights on either side so are different from a mini's headlights.

Locking this as it is not really thread worthy.
