Hi,

I tried to search if it was possible but only came up with the LAN stuff...

So here's the deal:

a friend and me both have PS2 with I-link port, we have I-link cable, 2 TV's, ...

can you link those 2 up, without the use of internet/LAN, but just with that I-link cable??

thanks!

i dont think you can i think you can only use the lan im not sure though since i havent tried try it and ull find out then come back here and report what you found :D

No.

The reason is that GT3 uses iLink (Firewire) networking protocols.
GT4 uses Ethernet networking protocols and does not use the iLink port for networking.

Because Ethernet hardware is more prevalent, setting up a GT4 network is relatively easy.

I may be wrong, but I think you can connect them directly using a crossover cable.

You can link 2 PS2 directly using a crossover cable, and you must use an Ethernet hub or switch to connect more than 2.
That can be found by searching on LAN.

Since the iLink question is answered, I'm closing this thread before it becomes a zillionth LAN discussion.
