Thought you may be interested in some fun that Clint and myself had with GT3 and GT Concept this afternoon. Got a bit of practice in for our I-link that is coming up the day after the Aussie GP in march. Yes, you could say that we fight tooth and nail for a win (in a sportsmanlike manner!) as neither of us like to loose. So here's how close in can be when there's no A.I. involved......

Race 1, the Concept Viper @ Grand Valley 7 laps, no tyre wear TCS & ASM off. Clint takes the Flag by 0.694 seconds.

Race 2, Denso Sard Supra @ R246 II 7 Laps. No tyre wear, ASM & TCS off. Clint wins this one too by 0.068 second !! ...Just trying to lull him into a false sense of security

Race 3, Super Autobacs MR-S @ Apricot Hill. Tyre wear on, TCS & ASM off. This race was run to a timer...when 30 minutes was up thats it. I won this one by 17 seconds (600 metres!)

Race 4 and we changed over to GT Concept (we get to watch our replays with this one too!) Both of us ran NSX's with no tyre wear and ASM/TCS off. 10 laps @ the Autumn Ring. I won again by 1.921 seconds.

Race 5, we used the GT-R Concept LM @ Midfield. No tyre wear, ASM/TCS off, 10 laps. I won again by 4.012 seconds...woohoo I'm on a roll

Race 6, Nissan 350Z concept LM's @ R246 II. No tyre wear, TCS/ASM off. 10 laps. Clinton won this one by 0.033 seconds!

It looks like so much fun Drew. I'm getting stoked just thinking about it. I wish there were some racers around here in my area where we could set up an I-link battle. I've thought of trying to get one set up at work where we could use some banquet space and raid the audio/visual department and get there 12 foot LCD projection screens. Could you imagine 6 PS2's all working of there own 12 foot LCD screens! WOOOHOOO

We both live in the same City..Ballarat. Pretty lucky actually as there are about 6-7 guys from the GTF, Racing line etc that live within 2 hours or less of us, so we get together as often as we can...not often enough though!

The last REAL race that we had was in Tickfords around the Autumn ring II. 10 laps, no tyre wear and ASM/TCS off. I sort of cleaned 'ol Clint up on this one (hehe!)...next time hey mate!
Won by around 47 seconds I think?

Actually I have an I link cable myself and Ron has invited his mate Wes round tomorrow for our first I link session, it will have to be winner stays on! guess who thinks he's keeping the big screen telly all day I promise to kick ass

reckon i spent most of that race with the rear tyres smokin and driftin the car and facing backwards...etc
that pic on the first lap was taken from the front of my car and it would have beenso easy to put you into the wall there dude...
had a great afternoon though, how about you post the pics of the GTR driftin around midfield

Hiya Kelly...nope, don't have a capture card. I use our sony digtal camera that we bought about 8 months ago. Just snapped a few shots while watching the replay. Looking forward to a full report on your I-link session too...Hope you gave Ron a good run for his money!!

nice! yes I gave him a run for his money alright

beat him on first race a 2 lapper round midfield, coz he spun on the rumble ......

then to swiss alps ... 5 laps in the suby he ate my dust the whole way I was using the momo though and he on ds2 Didn't have that many go's it ended up being 4 of us to 2 ps2's but I kick friends butt too so...........

1 question Drew ... how you see the replays ? was not given any replays at all yesterday and I so wanted to watch the 2 vipers round Laguna race

Have you guys ever thought of a small endurance I-line of around 38 laps and tire wear? That way you through pit stops into the strategy. Make it an odd number of laps so you cant even out your pit stops....

Got the PC back quickly before I finish up for the night...Kelly, Gran Turismo Concept lets you see the race replay at the end of each race (in I-link mode) if you want it....GT3 A-Spec doesn't.

Hook up everything to a digital recorder and record it that way.

Only problem with that FPT is you will only get the view of one sceen and the driving view at that

your forgetting one thing.......someone can broadcast. Just have the third person (on the third TV) select broadcast instead of race. They will have control over all of the replay functions DURING the race. They can record it from there.......
