Sorry, but I gotta post some pics of my car. It's under a car cover, buried in a half-foot of snow right now. :( Can't wait until Spring though! :D

Oh yeah, it's a 1998 Nissan 240SX SE. I had another thread with pics, but they seem to have disappeared during the forum change...

I got it just this fall with about 30K miles. It was new from the dealership in Feb '00.

The Japanese version of this car is in GT3. It's a ~220 HP turbocharged car called the S14 Silvia (or 200SX in other markets). The car in the game is the J-Spec 220 HP, but was relabeled as 240SX during the 'Americanization', even though the US never saw the 220 HP version. Bummer...

It's back on the road in April, and I have my first batch of mods planned for soon after. Injen cold-air intake, GReddy header, and A'pexi N1-Dual Exhaust (my avatar!). Later mods will include adjustable coil-overs and other suspension tweaks, better wheels & tires, a short-shifter & clutch, and maybe (after the warranty dies) a turbo kit. Ahh, rear wheel drive... 😈

Very Very nice. Hey you should lend that car to me. You know down here it never snows. :P :P :P

Winnipeg, that's a good one. You know as well as I do that we have four seasons in Canada: almost winter, winter, still winter, and construction. Nice try, though! :P

It should be:

almost winter, winter, still that ****in winter, construction and ontarians in the wrong lane, 10kph slower than every body else... That's more like it!

The 200SX in the U.S. is front wheel drive.

But in Europe, the Silvia is known as the 200SX... i think it's unfair we didn't get a real S14, with the 220hp SR20DET...

Yea, I know. When I did the Google search for that pic, and a whole load of Silvias came up

Aww, yeah. Car's back on the road, and I got some new pics. Rather than start another thread, I'll tack 'em onto this one.

Since the last pics, I've made a few little changes. Tint, lip spoiler, new tires, waxed and shined. I'll be doing suspension this spring, I've got H&R springs, waiting for GAB shocks from Stillen and strut & sway bars, both on order.

Sorry I don't like your Silvia....I like the newer styled ones!

But the front on yours is nice........and when you get bored of Winter do you go to some where warm to melt the ice cyrstals off you chin?

Why'd you block out the number plate?

Yes, the S15's are very nice, were they available in NZ? We never got them here. Mine was the last year available in North America. And you'd like it just fine if you drove it, my friend... :D

When we Canadians get bored during the winter, we go outside the igloo and have snowball fights or we play hockey. Or I can drive a half-hour to the US border, where all the snow magically disappears. I blurred my plate because you don't need to see it, and you never know where a posted pic will end up...

Have you considered a supercharger?

Actually, I belong to several 240 forums, and I am not aware of anyone with a supercharged 240SX. One US company has been developing a SC kit, but it's been a loooong time, and I doubt it'll ever be finished. There are about five turbo kits available, and one of those may be in the distant future, but not until the warranty is long dead... 😈

may i rather suggest something like this? ;)

sr20det.jpg

:D

I would just get a SR20DET (haha since I have no money...) and THEN turbocharge it. 😈

Of couse it is you car, and you are spending the denaro, so you decide

Actually, the SR20DET is already turbocharged, that's what the 'T' stands for. That's a beautiful red-top PunkRock, but I personally think the SR hype is getting carried away. The KA is plenty tough, and in the end, a turbo 2.4L has more potential than a turbo 2.0L.

but you need to beef up the KA a lot more than the SR20 to resist these kind of power... the KA is not a very strong engine (not that it's weak) when compared to the SR20...

I'm gonna go ahead and disagree with you here, PR. The KA's internals, iron block, and drivetrain will handle 400+ HP with NO modification. It's the SR's aluminum block that's more likely to need beefing up at higher HP's... although it's much more fun if you're comparing stock-to-stock. :)
